Grubb to be next OC at Bama per ESPN

Don’t get me wrong, this is a big upgrade. But it looks like the pendulum is swinging back to power running with play action passes. This isn’t Grubb’s game. Overall I’m pleased, but wonder if doubling down on this type of offense is the right call.

I really believe Grubb is smart enough to utilize what we have. The dude has been successful calling plays and working with DeBoer everywhere he has been. I don’t expect that to change. Roll Tide!

We hired DeBoer for his offense. It would be silly to bring him in and then change to something else before he even has a chance to fully implement his claim to fame, his offense.

I decided to stop posting here until this was a settled matter. Trying to explain how not great Sheridan was as an offensive coordinator and the general feeling of unease at the prospect of his doing the same thing for another year wasn't doing anything productive.

There are still some questions about how balanced the offense is, but this is the guy who runs the offense well. This will give the team a shot at doing what people hoped DeBoer would do when he arrived.

Edit: In case there was any doubt about the play calling...

I hope we didn’t hire DeBoer for his offense. Those come and go. I hope we hired DeBoer because he’s a good football coach. Part of that is recognizing what works and adapting to that instead of stubbornly holding on to something that no longer works

I think that he will bring real confidence with him. He believes in himself, and he adjusts his offense to his players. Alabama is better off with him. But I am still worried about the offensive line

You mean in college football generally? Or at Bama?
