I'm absolutely fine with the audits of every government agency, provided it's done by qualified people in an organized and transparent way.

I'll ask again: why do you not want DOGE staff to be required to pass security checks?
I don’t care if they are or not to be honest. Security clearances aren’t generally worth the paper they are printed on from what I can tell with as much leaking and mishandling of information that takes place.

As far as audits it’s pretty apparent no one was minding the store so to speak. The system we have isn’t working so let’s do something else. If this were a Dem you’d be all for it. It’s only because it’s Trump that there is a problem with it.

This past Friday, 9-year-old Rockledge resident Vivian Sleeth was welcomed as a special guest at the White House where she got to be acting press secretary.

It was an exciting time in an otherwise bleak few years for the Viera Elementary fourth grader. In June 2022, after having trouble seeing, Vivian was diagnosed with DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma), a rare, aggressive pediatric brain cancer. Vivian’s mom Brittany Sleeth said doctors told her this past November that her little girl had “a couple more months left … if that.”

Do you find that referring to those with whom you disagree as hypocrites enhances your arguments? I think I've stated my position pretty clearly. Why would you doubt my word?

Seriously, what do you think they are going to do? Sell people’s SS numbers to scammers from China? This is just something else to complain about instead of dealing with the rot in the federal government. It’s more fun for the left to complain about something Elon did today. It’s tired and sad to be honest.
1. Yes, they could do exactly that. Doesn't mean they will, of course, but it's never a good idea to give people who haven't been properly vetted access to PII--particularly through . Hell, PII is a major component of annual cybersecurity training.

2. Yes, you're correct: People on the left have problems with someone completely outside of normal checks and balances weilding so much power over the government. Talk about crazy. They probably also think it's a bad idea to have audits performed by people with no training in accounting or auditing.

I still SMH at, "Well, we're against DEI because it means you hire unqualified people BUT WE ARE GOING TO HIRE A BUNCH OF UNQUALIFIED PEOPLE!!!"

Here's what funny - as insane as he was, I could at least BELIEVE the possibility if Ross Perot found a lot of government waste. He had a lot of flaws as a person and a politician, but unlike a certain President I know, he didn't have more bankruptcies than the local AA meetings.

'Real America' Won't Mind If They Miss a Social Security Check—Lutnick - Newsweek

Remember me telling you all the Democrats have to do is BE LESS OVERTLY AWFUL than Trump?

Well, their strategy of "let's run the ball into the line, punt, and hope our defense holds" is working - if they'll shut up and stick with it through January.

"Let's say Social Security didn't send out their checks this months. My mother-in-law is 94, she wouldn't call up and complain. She just wouldn't. She would think something got messed up and she'd get it next month," he said. "A fraudster always makes the loudest noise, screaming, yelling and complaining."

This, of course, is an indictment of his boss, who is the biggest whiner in world history. But setting that aside, this comment reminds me of one relayed by Ed Rollins in the early days of the Reagan administration. Treasury Secretary Don Regan actually said (per Rollins) that they could balance the budget overnight by tacking on a .50 cent a gallon federal tax. That was bad enough (John Anderson had actually proposed this in the GOP primaries), but he then said this: "The voters won't even notice it."

Rollins pointed out to Regan, "You guys in the limos won't notice it, but Joe Sixpack is going to notice REAL QUICK when you take another ten bucks out of him when he fills up his gas tank."

Past bad behavior seems a curious excuse to quit caring about security.
Of course, you are right, but government agencies can have access to PII if (a) they need it for a legitimate government function (and finding corruption is surely a legitimate government function) and (b) they safeguard the info in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. I believe (a) has been met and I see no credible evidence that (b) has been violated, just vague assertions that "I do not want DOGE to be able to access to my information."
Well, I don't want the IRS to have access to any of my information because without it, the IRS could not tax me, but too bad for me. They have a government need (tax collection) and they (generally) comply with laws/regs to protect my information.

As I've said, the above (in bold) is not my assertion. I have no issue with the appropriate and necessary government agency having access to the info contained within any other department. I support finding and eliminating the waste in government. It's the proper vetting of the individuals who have access to the information upon which I must insist. Why is this such a problem?

That's the purpose of security, to make sure they dont!

This isn't directed at you but I suspect no one has a problem with this, though in transparency, I do believe this is just another roadblock that those who oppose Trump (and therefore Elon) are throwing up. If DOGE workers achieved the appropriate security clearances (I'm assuming they've not, but I don't know), I believe there would be some other excuse formulated / propagated, because team D has decided that literally everything Trump does is evil.

It was only a matter of time that the University of Maine system would cave, after Trump pulled federal funding to force its hand. But the commitment these universities and politicians have to being on the 20 side of an 80-20 issue is remarkable.

It took punitive action and a Title IX investigation to get here, but the absurdity of biological males in women's collegiate athletic competitions in Maine is officially over.

Per the press release, the Title IX investigation prompted a response confirming compliance with the executive order.

I can't speak for anyone who would oppose Trump's actions just because Trump committed them. Being critical of something simply because of the source is as foolish as agreeing with everything for the same reason. Since there are clearly Republicans/conservatives who find no fault with anything Trump does, it also seems reasonable to assume that there would be Democrats reacting as you describe. It probably does describe most Democratic politicians, just as it's almost impossible to find a Republican who expresses any hesitation regarding their unwavering support of Trump.

Similarly, while there are posters here who have never been openly critical of any of Trump's political actions (the old "I disagree with how he acts but everything else he does is fine" justification seems just a smokescreen), there are probably those who have never agreed with a single Trump action. Maybe that's a result of unwavering admiration/hatred of the man or maybe they are sincere in their support/opposition to the policies. Sometimes it can be hard to tell.

I'm not trying to "both sides" your observation, as I'm not using the actions of unconditional Trump supporters to excuse the actions of those who will always oppose him just because he's Trump. Both positions seem to be unproductive and intellectually lazy.

Leavitt: These are the 530,000 illegal immigrants that Joe Biden flew to the United States on the taxpayers dime. They’re welcome to self-deport using the newly repurposed CBP Home App!

Does the WH Press Secretary know how to be honest? Apparently not, as she's still telling the obvious lie her prevaricating boss spouted last year.

OK, so just trying to follow the Trump narrative, we are back to Biden was heavily involved, devious and pulling off a bunch of crimes. I ask because this afternoon we will be back to the guy’s brain lobes were not connected.

meanwhile, here’s a nice thought: the United States is scheduled to hold the World Cup next year and the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028. Might be time for a bunch of countries to stick together and stick it to the United States again with a boycott.

Just remember: when that happens, it will somehow not be the fault of the guy whose fault it is.?

Most Americans would trade the World Cup for a cup of coffee
