I did my part last year to get us to the Final Four - didn’t watch any of the tournament games. Stayed out of game threads. And had a heart attack the weekend of the final four

This year? I was in Robert Morris game thread while we struggled and was glued to the tube. I left the game thread and turned tv off…and suddenly we improved . And haven’t watched or participated since.

We played well. But that’s the worst defensive scheme I’ve ever seen employed vs Bama

Defense was absolutely frustrating. I could not relax during the game thinking Bama's shooting might cool off and the defense was doing little to stop BYU.

Also, BYU stayed close early by scoring off of almost every turnover.

I’m talking about BYU’s approach to defending us. I thought our defense did exactly what we were supposed to do.

Oops. You did say vs Bama; I read "by" Bama. I still don't think Bama's defense was good but the stats show maybe it was. It just looked like BYU got too many easy baskets in the paint and too many offensive rebounds so they scored on most trips. They shot poorly from the three.

I think maybe the plan was to allow some of that inside stuff since BYU is pretty dangerous from beyond the arc. I actually thought the defense was pretty good. They scored slightly above their average, but when you take tempo into account, they would be slightly under. I know we moved up a little in defensive efficiency after that game, so I don't think it was nearly as bad as it may have seemed.

I agree with you. I think sometimes, even though I don’t know if Nate would admit it … but, if they score quickly, and then we can turn around and go back up the court even faster it speeds up the game into our favor. I’m not saying he gives up free points. I’m saying he doesn’t double anyone ever. And that’s his way of saying if they score great but we’re gonna get the ball back up the court and score before they even can set up. I just think that factor goes into his strategy on defense.

I was in the choir loft last night, playing for confirmation, but following the game on my phone. What happened last night is what happens when people don't seriously guard the three point line against us. This was kind of like the Texas game only better. Texas didn't guard the line and we bombed away on them too. Last night was just a masterful performance. Stay hot BAMA!!

I didn't even count it up. I knew we hit 25 3's but it just dawned on me we win the game by 25 points.

And, as the guys on CBS said, it's not like BYU laid down either. They were very good.
