Trump's Policies Part 4

I was referring to the subject matter of the painting itself rather than the actual location of the piece.

Then again, @Bazza thinks those who post negative items about Trump are hate-filled lunatics who can’t distinguish fantasy from reality, so perhaps I’m just a crazed fool. I guess that’s what’s keeping me from being a member of that bastion of rationality, the Cult of Trump.

Those who post negative items about Trump remember the circus that was 2017-2021, and seeing the same clowns riding tricycles during the current circus doesn't make one want to change their mind about the circus.

I was told the POTUS couldn't do anything regarding illegal immigration without pork-laden legislation sending $100billion to Ukraine and Israel...

A memorandum released by the White House directs the Secretaries of Defense, Interior, Agriculture and Homeland Security to transfer the jurisdiction of federal land along the southern border to the Department of Defense.

The order details that the military will be tasked with building a border wall and implementing detection and monitoring equipment. But the military's mandate is broad and defined as activities that are "reasonably necessary and appropriate to accomplish the mission."

<snip>

In March, preliminary government data obtained by CBS News showed that the number of migrants crossing the U.S. southern border illegally in Mr. Trump's first full month in office plunged to a level not seen in at least 25 years.

If people cannot see that Biden (or his handlers) didn't want to stop illegal immigration by now, it's proof they'll be in denial forever...

And if legal immigrants get caught up and deported to a hellhole prison, that's just the price they have to pay so we can feel safer.
Two different issues, but nice try at deflection.

So many here applauded Biden and derided those who didn't support the so-called immigration bill, yet here we are with far better results that didn't require silly pork-laden legislature.

Whatever

Better results provided you aren't the one being dumped in a prison even though you didn't do anything wrong.

And as you seem keen on compartmentalizing the discussion, oh boy, Trump is sending the military to the border! That will make the border a "military installation", allowing for harsher punitive measures--up to and including shooting.

Yay?

I mean, they are two different issues.

I get that you like neither approach - I don't care for the abduction and removal without due process, regardless as to its legality - but that's different than stopping the illegal crossings in the first place.

Biden claimed he couldn't do it yet Trump accomplished it in basically no time - which is what many of us called on Biden to do over and over yet were told it wasn't possible.

Better results provided you aren't the one being dumped in a prison even though you didn't do anything wrong.
If they're caught crossing illegally then they, by default, 'did something wrong'. But again, illegal border crossings aren't the same thing as rounding up people here illegally.

Yay?
Nah, not for shooting, but I am for the enhanced ability to detect people trying to enter illegally, along with the ability to more easily place barriers where the illegal crossings might continue to be attempted.

Trump says CBS and '60 Minutes' should 'pay a big price' for going after him

President Donald Trump bitterly attacked “60 Minutes” shortly after the CBS newsmagazine broadcast stories on Ukraine and Greenland on Sunday, saying the network was out of control and should “pay a big price” for going after him.

“Almost every week, 60 Minutes ... mentions the name ‘TRUMP’ in a derogatory and defamatory way, but this Weekend's ‘BROADCAST’ tops them all,” the president said on his Truth Social platform. He called on Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr to impose maximum fines and punishment “for their unlawful and illegal behavior.”
So much for 'Freedom of the Press"

State Department launches anti-Christian bias inquiry

As the Christian world commemorates Holy Week leading up to Easter Sunday, the State Department has issued an appeal for its employees to report instances of alleged anti-Christian bias, including formal or informal actions due to opposition to vaccines or personal pronoun choice, that may have occurred during the Biden administration.

Christians: The most persecuted of all the American majority groups.

They are! Remember all those movie theaters that discriminated against The Sound Of Freedom.

I guess when yet another foolish or embarrassing action of one’s hero is pointed out, some people’s knickers get in a twist.
Interesting that the movement of another painting being moved so that the Obama painting could be put in place didn't attract an article or any theatrics from the masses. Obama being a hero is an interesting choice but to each his own...

As I posted earlier, it’s the painting itself that I was mocking, not the movement. Trump’s ego knows no bounds.

Yeah, well Obama moved a bust of Churchill.
It's his residence/office. He gets some latitude in the interior decorating decisions.

Trump is completely self-absorbed, though.

you conveniently left out 2 very descriptive words. Violent, criminal US citizens. I don't like the man either, but that is just dishonest.
How is it dishonest? Regardless of what they've done, deporting them to another country doesn't just strip them of their constitutional rights, it puts them outside of US jurisdiction--as we are seeing now--so that they have no means of regaining those rights.

Not really when you consider the fact that he is vindictive and doesn't care if what he does is illegal or not. I wouldn't trust this. He makes suggestions regarding people who once worked in his administrations being traitors for speaking ill of him now. I truly believe he wants to be a dictator and will push this as far as people let him. So far, few are really pushing back.

  • Thank You

You certainly can’t deport natural born citizens no matter what they did. I think it takes something extreme to deport naturalized citizens.

At the risk of sounding like some woke bleeding heart libtard, that prison in El Salvador is beyond the pale inhumane. Yes, they have themselves to blame for being there but it would be horrible to be innocent and get sent there.

Not saying prisoners should be coddled but having them sleep on metal shelves with no bedding material and packed in like sardines is insane.
