Trump's Policies Part 4

NEW - Chamath Says Trump Didn’t Just Shake Up the System—He Broke the Elites’ Entire Economic Playbook

They’re not just upset—they’re terrified.

Chamath Palihapitiya, once one of the Democratic Party’s top donors, is now exposing the global elites’ unified strategy—and why it’s crumbling fast.

@chamath declared: “They’ve deeply benefited from a 20-year regime of taking jobs and moving them anywhere in the world that allowed you to optimize for profit.”

That system made Wall Street and multinational corporations wildly wealthy. They shipped out American jobs, gutted the middle class, and got rewarded with decades of near-zero interest rates.

“It benefited from an economic regime of low volatility, where you could keep interest rates effectively at zero for quasi forever.”

But then Trump happened—and their grip on economic policy began to slip.

Palihapitiya explained that the elites had grown accustomed to scaring presidents into compliance. But not this one.

“What they see is an inability to create and scaremonger the White House into economic policy.”

And that, he said, is shaking them to the core.

“This is very troublesome for them because they have been able to control from Wall Street or from London, or from these other places, how governments behave.

” Now, with Trump back on the scene, their entire system is under threat—and they know it.

“What you see right now is them violently trying to push back and trying to create a narrative.

” This was never just about tariffs or trade.

It was about control.

And the people who built an empire on cheap labor, financial games, and backroom influence are watching it all slip away.

I was stunned that Vindman was not court-martialed for his public insubordination.
And being right on the policy is no defense. Serving officers shall not say things in public that undermine the commander in chief. Period.
See Douglas MacArthur for another example.

And even if it were OK to be insubordinate to a president, it's still stupid to be insubordinate to Trump, who has repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to go after anyone perceived as not toeing the line (or kissing the butt. Choose your own metaphor).

Maybe this officer was ready to retire and willing to be relieved. After all, her duty post is northern Greenland.
It has always been my practaice to voice concerns with my bosses, before a decision has been made and always behind closed doors. When I am told to shut up and color, then, having had my say, I shut up and color.

And yes, Trump is abnormally thin-skinned, so this was not unexpected.

Nope. In a CNN panel discussion he said, "President Trump has violated US policy vis-a-vis Ukraine."
The President does not violate US policy in regards to foreign countries. He makes said policy. He may make stupid policy, but cannot violate it.

Exclusive: Trump budget proposal would fully eliminate Head Start
More than 1 million parents wouldn't be able to go to work under the proposal, the National Head Start Association warned late Friday.

We moved away from manufacturing in this country for commodities like socks and clothing when America turned towards the WalMarts. The whole idea was to get stuff sold as cheap as possible, and everyone jumped on the bandwagon. In the process, muscling out Mom and Pop businesses.

Despite what the tariff groupies spew, we are never going to manufacture Nikes in the US.

So we can't really blame the "elites" for this as much as we can blame the people who wanted WalMart specials, et. al.

I'm scared of this idiot's moves, and I'm not elite. I saw close to $300K of my hard earned money vanish in a few days in a self-inflicted move by an arguably senile old man.

Say wnat anyone wants about Sleepy Joe, but he turned over the keys to a vibrant economy, one with low unemployment and a stock market that was as bullish as just about any time in history.

Just in time for a Republican to come destroy it. Hello, Dubya?

I disagree with this sentiment entirely. Trump has and never will do anything for the little guy. This is about the elites solidifying their grip on power and treating the rest of us like peasants, a word Vance has already used.

If the elites were truly in a panic we would see a tax regime that was attempting to redistribute the massive wealth transfer that has accumulated over the last 40 years, not expanding tax cuts.

I will add, the non-elites attacking the elites are not helping themselves on that front by dismantling programs that support non-elites, like Head Start.

This is just more propaganda.

CAIRO (AP) — The head of a U.S.-funded Arabic-language television and online news outlet that claims a 30 million-strong audience in the Middle East and North Africa terminated most staff and curtailed TV programming Saturday, accusing the Trump administration and Elon Musk of having “irresponsibly and unlawfully” cut off funding.

In notices to Al Hurra news staffers about their dismissals, chief Jeffrey Gedmin said he had given up on the U.S. administration's freeze lifting anytime soon for the congressionally approved money for Al Hurra and its U.S.-funded Arabic language sister organizations.

Gedmin accused Kari Lake, President Donald Trump's appointee to the American government agency overseeing Al Hurra, Voice of America and other U.S.-funded news programming abroad, of dodging his efforts to speak with her about the funding cutoff.

Trump was right. Yeah 30 years ago. We , the middle class complained about shipping jobs overseas then. It fell on greedy deaf ears. Why didn’t he speak up then? He had a huge personality then. He was ‘The Donald’. Now the middle class is a wasteland and it may be too late.

This guy is such a clown.
Traditionally, portraits of the two most recent presidents go on display in the foyer. Trump is in the unique position of also being a former president.

Obama’s portrait went on display in the foyer of the State Floor, near the staircase to the president’s residence in 2022. The White House said the portrait is still in the foyer, but it has been moved to the opposite wall, where a portrait of former President George W. Bush used to hang.
Yeah, moving the Obama portrait across the room (replacing the GWB portrait) is such a big deal, LOL.

It's too nuanced for some to understand.

Especially those who are so deranged with hatred they can no longer separate talking points and propaganda from reality.

Just about everything posted here that's negative publicity is more fear mongering than reality if you take a minute to actually read the linked articles.

I was referring to the subject matter of the painting itself rather than the actual location of the piece.

Then again, @Bazza thinks those who post negative items about Trump are hate-filled lunatics who can’t distinguish fantasy from reality, so perhaps I’m just a crazed fool. I guess that’s what’s keeping me from being a member of that bastion of rationality, the Cult of Trump.

Even if it is AI, If Democrats were smart they would put this quote in the front of every farmer in America. This is what the Magats think of you and your role in our security and welfare of this country...

The Doge propaganda bot criticizes "previous administrations" for giving farmers a $28 billion bailout to cover the sales they lost when China imposed retaliatory tariffs. Oddly, it does not mention that the "previous administration" that did this was Trump's, in his first term.
