Political Meme - Cartoon/Joke Thread...Part XXVIIII

Issues that distract the voter from what is really happening.

I can't remember the last time MS-13, transtesticle bathrooms, DEI, critical race theory pinged my GARF (Give A Rat's Fart) meter. But it sells. I will give them that.
As long as the left thinks things that matter to some don't really matter they'll continue to lose elections.

I don't care either way, just pointing out the facts.

I have seen a lot more from people upset about the celebrity women going into “space” than I saw about the trip itself.

The laughable thing about that space ride was the article I read that purported that they were "going into orbit". And one of the chicks after the thrill ride saying that they were doing the same thing as Alan Shepherd did. :D

Bezos's rocket ride is not much more than a glorified theme park ride. My younger brother (who has worked in the space industry for decades) and I shared a good laugh. He said New Shepherd should have flashing neon lights.

That's it. That's the joke.

Or, possibly, a tragedy.

If the two parties are so similar, why do most of our resident “independents” so often have only criticism for the Democrats while posting mostly favorable comments about Trump’s actions?

There are members in both parties who are beholden to big donors and use their positions for personal gain, but there’s a lot more to American politics than that.

The thing is, just because a specific issue doesn't light up your GARF like a Christmas tree (and thanks for explaining the acronym; God only knows what I might have assumed it would be) doesn't mean it isn't lighting up the GARFs of a huge number of voters. It can be called a distraction all day long, but if this is what people are basing their voting decisions on, it is, in fact, a legitimate issue considering the outcome.

More to the point, dying on that particular hill will have consequences in future elections as well. Old school liberals like Maher and Stewart are beyond frustrated that so many Dems are digging in their heels on these exact issues, particularly since it will lead to pretty predictable outcomes. I don't know what DNC strategists are actually doing, but if I'm a Dem, I'm thinking they are getting way overpaid.

I guess Dems should go the same route. Conjure up a bunch of bull hockey distractions and shiny objects for the ignorant or incurious.

Maybe we can sell out our allies to autocrat's wants and needs. Oh wait, we're already doing that.
