Based on the analysis I saw earlier today the most effective means they have to close shipping would be to mine the shipping lanes which would be an act of war in my opinion. Trump has opened up Pandora's box now and should be committed to deal with the threats Iran presents to the global economy.
The US (and others) have minesweepers and I would bet they are there or heading that way.
Clearing mines is not instantaneous, but is possible with time.

Until mines are cleared, however, supertankers cannot sail through the strait, not because it is impossible, but because maritime insurance cannot be secured until the mines have been reliably cleared.

You are correct, laying mines is an act of war, but so is dropping MOPs on a country. This would be a counter-escalation to the American escalation. I think the American counter-counter-escalation would be removing the Iranian minelaying assets along the coast.

It was Trump’s birthday party parade.
We can compare what the Army was planning to do in the original permit issued in 2024 under Biden for the Army 250 years celebration.

----
Furthermore, the permit filed under Biden's administration proposed the following events on Page 2: a "concert by The United States Army Band, musical ensemble performances by the US Army Band & US Army Field Band, performances by the US Army Drill Team, Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps and equipment/soldier displays by the 3rd Infantry Regiment and the Presidential Salute Battery." Under a question about whether any road closures or traffic management would be required, the permit applicant, a project manager with the U.S. Army Military District of Washington named Paul A. Hadwiger, checked "No.”
——

In other words, prior to Trump becoming president, the Army was planning a celebration festival with the Army Band, etc.
However, after Trump became president, he has turned it into a military parade with troops & vehicles to celebrate his birthday.
I concur 100%. Except, I would have included my customary "BULL HOCKEY".

Another example of MAGAverse's attempts to impugn anyone against Trump as being un-American and disloyal. When doing so is actually the opposite.

Just remember: when gas prices go up because Corporal Bone Spurs decided on airstrikes, it is somehow Joe Biden's fault.

Just a reminder that the orange headed clown has yet to have an original thought in his drug addled mind.

"Make America Great Again" was stolen from Reagan's 1980 campaign (and Clinton used it in his 1991 announcement he was running in Little Rock).

"Drain the swamp" was also stolen from Reagan, and it should be noted this was NOT a campaign phrase, Reagan used it on the first anniversary of his inauguration and told HIS CABINET, "YOU are here to drain the swamp of Big Government." It fell on deaf ears, of course, because every single Cabinet member that shows up is playing for the history books and wants a big budget increase so they can say "I did such and such."

And now he's stolen "regime change" from George Dubya Bush.

Just think about it: he's this far from setting up a jet that looks like he's flying it so he can land on the USS Trump and announce, "Mission Accomplished." It will look like Goober Lindsey driving the car with the monkey in front of it in "Cannonball Run 2" - which is an apt metaphor to be honest with you.

One thing I find funny is that Trump thinks he can bully world leaders to do what he wants, but Netanyahu just bullied Trump into bombing Iran.
That's because Trump's brain works like this:
1) Say something over the top that makes you sound like a big tough man
2) change the subject
3) declare you "won", even when you lost

  • Emphasis!

I honestly never understood why Mr. 4F has such of a love for the military all of the sudden in his life. But then again many American gets on FB “to support the troops” and show “how Merican” they are 3 days a year before attending to their BBQ and forgets about them the other 362 days a year. It’s why anytime I see someone who attaches something involving a person’s support of troops and the implication that some group doesn’t or doesn’t support them enough I always question the person who said it. Hell… after I told one of these ‘supporters’ of the troops that I was voting for Doug Jones over Roy Moore I was told “I hate America because I voted against someone that Trump endorsed”…. Last time I checked I spent more than a year in my life in Afghanistan for this country while that coward was looking at ways to get out of serving.

But alas patriotism these days to many is wearing red, white, and blue shirts, saying you support the troops while doing nothing to support them in getting the care they need, practicing American exceptionalism , and posting 3 days a year of how patriotic you are. Yes there are some people that I meet that truly care and support the troops without serving a day in their life. I truly appreciate the love and support from those people. But I meet way too many who support the troops with the same effort and reason that they go to church one hour a week.

Crown Prince @PahlaviReza sending a message from Paris to Khamenei in his bunker in Tehran:

“Step down.

If you do, you will receive a fair trial and due process of law. Which is more than you have ever given any Iranian.

To other senior regime officials: those of you whose hands are soiled with the blood of the Iranian people, you too will have to face justice.

But we will not repeat the mistakes made in other failed transitions. To those of you who are loyal to the Iranian nation, and not the Islamic Republic: there is a future for you in a democratic Iran, if you join the people now. The choice is yours to make.

I know these officers, these soldiers, these brave men exist because they are reaching out to me and telling me they want to be part of this national salvation. But now, greater coordination is needed.

So to that end, today I am announcing that I am establishing a formal channel for military, security, and police personnel to reach out directly to me, my team, and our expanding operation.

This is a secure platform to efficiently manage the growing volume of inbound communications and requests from those breaking with the regime and seeking to join our movement.

For those patriotic members of our armed forces, the time is now to join the nation. If you do, I will make sure your service to Iran is not forgotten and is celebrated”

Marjorie Taylor Greene:

I spent millions of my own money and TRAVELED THE ENTIRE COUNTRY campaigning for President Trump and his MAGA agenda and his promises.

And Trump’s MAGA agenda included these key promises:

NO MORE FOREIGN WARS.

NO MORE REGIME CHANGE.

WORLD PEACE.

And THIS is what the people voted for.

Only 6 months in and we are back into foreign wars, regime change, and world war 3.

It feels like a complete bait and switch to please the neocons, warmongers, military industrial complex contracts, and neocon tv personalities that MAGA hates and who were NEVER TRUMPERS!

After the bombs were dropped, we were told “complete success” and Iran’s nuclear capabilities were totally wiped out.

Then it quickly turned to Iran’s nuclear facilities “partially damaged” and now it’s “we don’t know where their enriched uranium is.”

Let me be very clear.

My children are 22, 25, and 27.

I will literally fight ANYONE for their future.

And their future and their entire generation’s future MUST be free of America LAST foreign wars that provoke terrorists attacks on our homeland, military drafts, and NUCLEAR WAR.

I am FIGHTING for them to have a future where they can afford to buy a home, afford insurance, invest for retirement, enjoy life, retain their God given freedoms, afford to raise a family under their Christian faith, not be in debt, safety and security,

AND NOT HAVE OUR OWN TAX PAYER FUNDED GOVERNMENT DESTROY IT ALL.

Contrary to brainwashed Democrat boomers think and protest about, Trump is not a king, MAGA is not a cult, and I can and DO have my own opinion.

Never thought I'd see the day where I thought "kudos to MTG"...
I was expecting her to end, “Instead of foreign wars we need to allocate funds and resources to protect America from those Jewish lasers #MAGA #AmericaFirst” ha!

Also, question- was MTG a millionaire before being elected into office? I know essentially nothing about her. She said “millions of dollars of her own money.”

Please tell me that he truly doesn’t believe that is how it works
Well, in excoriating weather forecasters for forecasting rain for his birthday party, he said something to the effect of how could they possibly forecast one or two hundred years in the future, if they couldn't accurately forecast tomorrow. So he has the concepts of climate and weather still mixed in his very simple mind...
