I feel like they have us about right until we prove otherwise. Top two teams are replacing their starting QB’s so that may be tough on them.
It’s a bit surprising to see Clemson almost in the Top 5 and receiving (2) 1st place votes.
Everything else looks somewhat reasonable and especially considering how unpredictable this all is with roster changes due to the portal.
Bama at #8 is more than fair imo.
Just have to play well enough to not drop out of the Top 12.
Just make the playoffs, that's the objective these days.

I don’t get the love for Texas, or Georgia. I understand the OSU love, I honestly believe Sayin is the real deal, Manning is over hyped. I think Manning is good, but some have him as the best QB in the country already. Plus, he is playing behind a completely re tooled Oline.
I believe Bama should have been about 6th, and Georgia about 8th. Nothing about Stockton is scary. Nothing. and they are replacing 3 OLine positions. If you believe the Georgia chest thumpers , they had 34 first round picks drafted. That’s a lot of talent to replace.

As long as Dabo is there and the ACC remains mediocre , Clemson always has an outside shot.
Clemson has a lot of returning starters (and their QB is decent) and a few good transfers and their schedule is easy as always. I think they have a few new coaches too. I can see them winning the ACC or at least playing in the ACC championship game. If they were in the SEC, I think they would have probably 3-4 losses.
I think Bama makes it to the playoffs as long as our starters can stay healthy. RTR
I am surprised we are top 10! I thought we would be just outside of the top 10, Clemson is going to be really good, like it or not, I'm not sold on Manning as many has said as well, but the big one I don't get is State Penn! Until Franklin beats Ohio State and Michigan I have no faith in them
and their schedule is not tough as usual so they will finish high enough to make the playoffs
The Penn St love drives me nuts every year...they play 2 games basically this year of any competitive consequence...OSU/Nike U...the rest should be wins guaranteed. They havent won a significant game against any Top 10 team in over a decade..yet they get a top ranking which then allows them to stay up in the rankings...happened last year...and looks like it will again this year...must be nice to be loved by ranking members for no reason.
Their first 3 games are Nevada, Florida International, and Villanova. That's about the biggest cupcake non-conference schedule I've ever seen for a P4 team.
so basically they'll go 9-3, losing to Ohio st, Oregon and a team they shouldn't lose to.
It's going to be interesting to see all these new QBs, including ours. Wish we could have at least got TS some meaningful snaps last year. It should be a crime that we didn't.
Manning has so much pressure and media love that I actually feel kind of bad for him.
UGA, Stockton is one to watch. When i watched him last year he looked like a one-pitch guy...fastball, fastball, and then another fastball. He'll need to find some touch to be successful.

Apparently, Dabo has a team that resembles some of his National Championship teams. If I remember correctly, Herbstreit is REALLY high on them, saying they'll look a lot like when they won their NC's.
I think they have us about right to. That ranking tells me they think "Alabama has a lot of talent, they could be good, very good. But we just don't know what they are until we see the QB." That's what that ranking seems to say.
The media and several of the on air pundits have been wanting Penn St. to win it for about ten years now. I'm not sure why they love Franklin so much, but they do.
