Trump Policies, part IX

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

1) remember, Trump has not had a thought on anything that he didn’t know about in 1982. He grew up hearing about this and time magazine man of the year, and he has obsessions with this stuff.

2) he didn’t win it anyway, Padres infielder Maria Machado won it.

personally, I cannot wait for his rant over the fact he lost to a Hispanic woman.

but mango and triple sec def are kicking venezuela's ass, how can they do this?!!?!?!?!!

How absolutely ridiculous and yet totally obvious that Bernie, AOC, Rashida and virtually all of the progressive leadership hasn’t tweeted a word about the Trump peace deal even though they’ve been screaming about “genocide” for two years.

They should be dancing in the streets and instead silence.

The masks are off.

I really do hope this cease-fire holds for a while and not just because I prefer peace over war. The people I loathe most in D.C. will be boiling with rage.

Some quotes from the episode:
“And if we're just being deployed to score political points and to **** people off, one person I talked to, one active duty officer I talked to was like, we're eating the seed corn of the military's credibility at home. Like, if we're being deployed, not just to, well, basically, to **** off American citizens, if we're being deployed against American citizens, to provoke them, to antagonize them, like, A, that runs counter to our apolitical mandate, and B, that seems so short-sighted, because surely there will come a time soon when we're needed to do our actual job, and the countries, half the country is not gonna trust us anymore.”

“Like, they're posted to the National Mall. They're posted to, they're not posted where the crime is in DC.

They know, we know, everybody knows, that this is for Fox News. This is for the photo op. This is to show, this is for theater, right?

They're being props in political theater, just like the generals were props in Pete Hegseth's political theater last week. The more you do that, the more you treat the military as props in your political theater, the less it becomes a trustworthy institution for half the population.

Julia, I do want to take a quick break, but there is polling on this. These aren't just two journalists talking to each other. 58% of Americans, according to Reuters, including seven out of 10 Democrats, it might be obvious, but half of Republicans say the president should only send troops to face external threats.

37% in this poll said they believe the president should be able to send troops into a state over the objections of the government. So I mean, a minority of Americans actually, a pretty clear minority think this is doable.”

“And then also, did you pick up any texture about what they think about Pete Hegseth? Their brave leader?

I think, look, I'm mostly talking to officers, but what I'm hearing is they're like, he's constantly talking about lethality, but then we're deploying Marines to protect buildings in LA, and to participate in political theater. Like, how is that not a distraction?”

“But again, for the rank-and-file soldiers and officers, they're like, this is not, we should not be part of this. And the fact that we're part of this is deeply, deeply damaging to the reputation and standing of the military in American society.”

Melania Trump Says She Has Been Working With Putin to Reunite Missing Ukrainian Children
“President Putin and I have had an open line of communication regarding the welfare of these children,” the first lady announced.

The first lady, Melania Trump, revealed on Friday that she has been having back-channel talks with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia for three months, beseeching him to return children separated from their families because of his war on Ukraine.

“President Putin and I have had an open line of communication regarding the welfare of these children,” Mrs. Trump said in remarks from the grand foyer of the White House.

She claimed that in the past 24 hours, eight children were reunited with their families. “Plans are already underway to reunify more children in the immediate future,” she added. She spoke for six minutes.

Bravo to the first lady! I hope these efforts continue with increasing success.

Ooops. Idiot Steven Miller stops talking after letting it slip that they think Dictator Trump has plenary authority.

Worst yet, CNN did not call him out for this ridiculous assertion. A few minutes later they gave him a second chance where he changes his tune. This is the clip CNN posted to their YT channel.

Good job gutless CNN.
In one clip Miller stopped in his tracks realizing perhaps he had let it slip by mistake. I recall in Trump's first term there was discussion about extraordinary powers of the President.

It is intriguing as to potential direction this is going with Vance in the wings to replace Trump. Trump is only useful to the multi-billionairs because of the MAGA faithful. I imagine that they hope that he will not wreck the economy so badly that it creates a mass movement against him and the Republicans in general.

Trump administration says immigration enforcement threatens higher food prices
In an unusual acknowledgement, the Labor Department said that tougher immigration enforcement is hurting farmers and the food supply.

The Trump administration said that its immigration crackdown is hurting farmers and risking higher food prices for Americans by cutting off agriculture’s labor supply.

The Labor Department warned in an obscure document filed with the Federal Register last week that “the near total cessation of the inflow of illegal aliens” is threatening “the stability of domestic food production and prices for U.S. consumers.”

Trump: "Portland, Oregon, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."

He will tell any lie to justify using American troops against American citizens.
