The way too early discussion on whether Ty Simpson should return next season or enter the draft

If he's projected to be a 1st round pick he'd be nuts to stay.
TBF, in today's climate of "start me and pay me or I'm outty" Ty has shown to be "nuts" and different than most. At the end of the day I get the feeling that he has dreamed of being in this position for quite sometime and may just want to do it another time if we don't win it all this year. Leaving the Capstone as the starting QB is pretty awesome but leaving Title Town with a championship ring puts you in legendary status and Ty seems to be the type that gets that. I would think if we win it this year it increases his odds of leaving.

I would’ve expected a talented, but still first year starter to be getting better each week. Lately he seems to be regressing. A month ago I was quite confident he could carry us into the playoffs and even win a game or two. Now….unfortunately nothing will surprise me, He could be great….or…..

He is fighting a nagging injury apparently.

As the film library accumulates and our weaknesses become more apparent, game plans have become better against us and tys production has suffered some. But I still wouldn't trade him for anybody even on his bad days he's better than most.

He waited his turn and got it and played his way into being a projected first rounder.

He should go.

The 32nd player taken in the draft last year got $14.7mm with a $7.3mm signing bonus.

No way Ty makes anywhere near that next year in NIL, and if he’s chosen top 10 you’re talking closer to $30mm/$15mm.

He probably should go if he gets a pretty consensus amount of feedback that he will be drafted in the 1st half of the 1st Round at worst.

If there is some doubt that it could maybe be a lower 1st round pick then it could be a risky situation where he’s one of those guys just sitting there all night with the camera on him and he falls to the 2nd round.

The avg 2nd round contract is about $8 Mil with a $4 Mil signing bonus.

His NIL right now is estimated to be around $2.5 Mil so it’s not a massive difference in right now monies.

If falling to the 2nd round is a legitimate risk he might be better off playing another year in CFB.

After performances by Ty the last 3-4 games, it seems apparent to me that he’s not 1st round draft material. The 5-6 games prior to that, yeah, I would have said he is.

Which Ty Simpson do we have? What should we expect for the Iron Bowl, which could turn into his “showcase” of skill under pressure, especially should we not win?

I think the Ty that shows up Saturday depends greatly on the OL that shows up...
