Savannah Guthrie's mother's abduction, Arizona

Will try to post a video later.

Harvey Levin (of TMZ) segment on CNN's "Outfront with Erin Burnett".

Harvey says:

1. Ransom note sent to them (TMZ) in email format and impossible (so far) to trace.

2. That email contained info about 'location' of Apple watch that only the person responsible would know (paraphrasing).

3. The email indicated this would be the only communication from the sender and the ransom amount is non-negotiable. (meanwhile the son, Cameron, is asking to hear from them in a video).

4. There were two deadlines, one of which has already passed late today.

5. The 2nd deadline - Monday - is much more 'consequential'.

6. The bitcoin destination has been determined to be legitimate.

============

CNN is continuing now with "Anderson Cooper 360" and Levin is on again.

I'm no expert but seems to me the Sheriff is doing too much blabbering about details that are specific to the crime scene.

From what I understand they also opened up the crime scene way too soon - then later - maybe after the FBI became involved - closed it off to the public again.

I wonder about the amount requested in the ransom?

So far it seems like the kidnappers are pretty sophisticated.

The argument against paying the ransom is the question of having some kind of "proof of life" before capitulating.

Which is what the son was asking for in his video.

Whatever the amount of ransom is being demanded - surely you have to pay it if it means getting Mom back.

Push come to shove all of Hollywood and much of the country/world would chip in later on to help reimburse, right?

Meaning it shouldn't be about the money at all - but about knowing you'd get Mom back.

Another good segment and discussion from last night's "Cuomo" on News Nation.......

Criminologist Casey Jordan and retired FBI supervisory special agent and hostage negotiator Jason Pack join NewsNation to discuss the likely credibility of the ransom notes regarding missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie. Jordan argues they should not be underestimated given that it's been four days since Guthrie's disappearance.

I hadn't thought about the "vengeance" motive.....

I want to say this: this type of nightmare going on right now for Savannah Guthrie is the worst that I can imagine.

Murder is awful, but you know.
Rape is horrid and can have years of after effects.

But a little over five years ago during the pandemic, my direct boss lived through the absolute horror of her son vanishing off the face of the Earth the night before he was supposed to join the US Army. She raced out of the laboratory one day and we didn’t see her for two weeks and then all of a sudden her boss was relaying to us what little she was comfortable telling us. Keep in mind this woman had just lost her mother less than a month earlier and had dealt with the Covid restrictions for that funeral.

Four months later, almost to the day, they found his remains about 3 miles from where they were looking. The decomposition was so bad that They have no idea why he died except it did not appear to be any sort of a murder. By that point, she had accepted the fact he was more than likely dead, she just wanted something to bury and even said so. He appears to have simply gone out on a drug high barefoot in the cold and died from exposure. But that is simply a working theory since there was nothing they could test for toxicology.

She posts about her son often on Facebook, and I understand that as much as I can. She recently stated she had not smiled in five years, and who can blame her?

I have serious doubts that Savannah Guthrie‘s mother is even still alive at this point. I just hope there is some sort of resolution enclosure, because I seriously would never wish this type of personal horror on my worst enemy.

I watched some of Banfield tonight for the first time. They were sort of hinting at the SIL. One chilling thing I noticed, since they kept showing the blood stains, was that, right outside the door there was splatter as from a forceful blow. Who in their right mind would kidnap an 84 year old in bad health who couldn't walk more than 50 yards? They always say look at the in-laws before the outlaws...

I don't know if the kidnapper(s) are relatives or not. If they are, they're absolute morons.

The plan is to kidnap your Millie, hold her until a bunch of ransom is paid, then live the good life afterward.

To get away with that, (1) she has to not know who got her, (2) the change in your financial circumstances has to pass right by the whole world (including your spouse) unnoticed, and (3) even if you were able to hide your own involvement by hiring the job out, everybody who was involved has to keep their mouths shut.

The more I think about it, the more I think it's not family. Surely nobody is that stupid.

Outside party.

*May* have had some assistance from someone nearby - not a relative (probably). I say this because it's obvious whomever did this had some pretty good intel of the property and victim's habits.

The perpetrator put a great deal of work into crafting the event in ways to not get caught.

Most criminals are indeed pretty dumb - but all it takes is a "smart" one to get away with a crime.

Obviously this is all conjecture and we'll know more as it unfolds.

I also feel the way the radio stations were used along with TMZ was done so to make sure more pressure was put on the family to do what is necessary (pay the ransom) to get Mom home.

IOW....now the whole world is watching, Samantha. Ball is in your court.

I'm curious how much the ransom is.......and how it compares with Samantha's net worth?

Do you think the ransom is over $5 million? $10 million?

This story is the exact reason, and justification to my wife , why we have 15 security cameras on our 5 acre rural Georgia property.

Also helps justify my automated roof mounted gun turrets
