There are bad apples everywhere.
Don't get me started on UCLA and Cal fans. I find Auburn fans to be quite amusing with their get-ups and use of a tiger tail around their canes. I'll learn more about all the other major SEC games when they come to BDS this upcoming season, like LSU, UT, UGA and Arky, but please, don't get me started on UCLA or Cal fans. They're just flat out rude and...too liberal/socialist to even have a decent tailgate with.

Reading this and then seeing your name makes me wonder if you have a troubled past ;).

Hahaha, elaborate your post please. I haven't had the fortunate upbringing that was all Alabama, all the time. Really, really, really hard to get that kind of upbringing when roughly 80% of my family (including parents) have either attended and graduated from, or currently attending, USC. Having said that, I've had my share of Pac-10 games, and aside from USC-ND games or marquee USC-OOC games, I've had more fun going Alabama games than any other USC game I've attended. If only Alabama would just be more dominant would it be a better experience.

I feel your pain. :biggrin2:

Here's another good one, "It's great to be optimistic, it's probably not so good to be pessimistic, but it's best to be realistic."

I prefer Snakes take on it: "They talk about the Alabama family not being reasonable and realistic. Well hell no, we're not supposed to be reasonable and realistic. We're Alabama -- we're supposed to be the best."

One question: How did someone in Louisiana know that they were slashing the tires of a lady who was an administrative assistant for Coach Saban? Do they have tags on their car, apart from the license plate? I live in Alabama right now and have been back to Louisiana in my vehicle since Saban became coach. My tires were not slashed. It seems there might be a bit more to this story.
Think about it, its a wedding she was attending, people are there who she knows and who know her. Someone mentions she works for Nick Saban at Alabama....its not that hard to piece together how this could happen. She doesn't need decals or a flag saying "I work for Nick Saban"...for someone to know she works for him.

But it could have been anyone. Maybe some punk kids who thought it would be cool to slash tires? Maybe it was someone she had personal issues with? There is no way to prove it had anything to do with her working for Saban. Plus I read that her tires weren't even slashed, someone let the air out of them.

Saban was either misinformed or he lied.
Or option 3: what you "read" was inaccurate.

I couldn't find a link, but it sounds pretty legit to me:

LSU responds to Saban's story on slashed tires
Posted by Birmingham News sports staff July 27, 2007 11:21 AM
Nick Saban told a story Thursday at SEC Media Days about one of his administrative assistants attending a wedding in Baton Rouge and having her tires slashed.

Saban used the story to illustrate what he called the "backlash" against him in Louisiana since he took the Alabama job.

An LSU official said Friday the story isn't completely true.

LSU assistant AD for sports information Michael Bonnette, in town for SEC Media Days, said the assistant found her four tires flat after the wedding, not slashed.

After getting calls about Saban's story, Bonnette called C.C. Thompson, who worked for Saban in the football office at LSU and Miami and now is Alabama football's director of internal operations.

Bonnette said Thompson told him she first thought the tires were slashed but discovered instead that someone had let the air out of the tires. Bonnette said Thompson also told him that the only Alabama identification on the car was a state of Alabama license plate.

LSU senior associate AD Herb Vincent said it was important to set the record straight. Said Vincent, ``Stories like that make LSU fans look bad.''

Alabama associate AD for media relations Doug Walker said Friday that the version of the story Saban told ``was a simple misinterpretation. He didn't intend to mislead anyone. Everyone knows about his positive feelings toward the people of Louisiana.''

Kevin Scarbinsky

I hope you don't make major life decisions based off this line of reasoning.
That sir is called coonass logic. It doesnt matter that the car with Alabama plates on it in a sea of Louisiana plates was the one rendered inoperatable it was simply a random hit by some prankster.

In other SEC Media Day quotes, Coach Saban did commend two reporters for asking good questions. Maybe the Alabama media can learn from those two.
I heard that story on Slimebaum today. A woman called saying that her son and another little girl from his class had been designated ABC33/40 (the local ABC affiliate) honorary reporters. After the regular sleaze media asked their pointed questions the timekeepers asked if the kids could ask Coach some questions, and he gladly obliged. The lady didn't say what the questions were, but he answerd them very graciously, and then commended the two kids by saying those were the best questions he had received all day, and then he shook their hands and left. Does that sound like the foul mouthed monster that ESPN and Kevin "tiger" Scarbinsky wants us to think is the coach at UA?

This just proves that the sports media not only in the southeast, but throughout the nation, has their own agenda and part of that is to make Saban and Bama look bad because we could give a rat's *** what they say about us.

If you want to be a media darling, then rout(sp) for USC or Tubbs. If you don't give a crap about the talking heads and their frat boy mentality, then ROLL TIDE!!!:BigA:

Disclaimer: Not all frat boys are bad. I've known several that are good guys and devout Bama fans.

Morton, let me make something very clear to you. Nobody on here is going to be allowed to say you lied. You are not going to be allowed to say someone else lied, even contingently. I'm on a very short string with you right now and your next post determines whether you have a future here.
