Official UA/AU post game thread...

I know we're going to bring in a great recruiting class and we're "going to clean house" this off-season, but does that really sound like the recipe for a good season next year? Thinning out an already thin talent pool and replacing them with a bunch of talented frosh players doesn't sound like a plan for instant success. I think we better get ready for next year to look only marginally better than this year. Here's to 2k9!

I hated the game, but it could have been much worse. The ball just didn't bounce our way when we needed it to and they outplayed us when it mattered. Kudo's to the cows.

Still love my Bama team. Always will. I'll just be glad when we get past this slump.

One day we will look back at this as the dark days and say "you remember when..........."

Until then RTR and "tomorrows a brand new day"

Maybe because Shula only brought in one or two quality o-linemen while he was here?

Not that again. Last year everybody was busting CMS for his game prep and on field management. Now its for his recruiting. Which was it? Like it or not, he was good for us and got us through very hard times. I'm sure CNS will be a plus but quit busting ion CMS..

Really though... did we expect more? I mean seriously, this is the same team that lost to Mississippi State and LA-M... did ya'll think we were going to win?? Being down by only three at the end of the first half was a plus! But seriously, DJ allowing that pass to be intercepted.... what the ?? Is that the same DJ who played last year, and the year before?? I think he has lost his heart. And JPW.... he has been consistantly inconsistant and I am deeply hoping and praying that CNS does some serious QB recruiting. And what about the conservative play calling!?!?!?!?! WAY TO CONSERVATIVE!!!! I was wondering throughout the majority of the game what the heck Major Applewhite was thinking when calling plays...but then again, that goes back to JPW who couldn't seem to do really anything all season!!!!

If we make it to a bowl, I will be glad to go and support the tide, but there is a part of me that is ecstatic that this season is over!!!! I am soooo incredibly ready for some certain seniors to graduate, and I hope that during the off season, the coaches will see what players deserve scholarships and take away those from the players who don't deserve them!!!!! I am ready for new recruits and for this Mike Shula class to get the heck out!! You can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t!!!

Enough venting.... It IS Saban's first season at ALABAMA... WE MUST GIVE HIM TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

What they have accomplished is me and the rest of the Crimson Nation being PO'ed for 2190 days and now we have to wait 365 more..... Im sick of this BS and losing to Awbarn. Heck I could care less about winning a national title too if we beat them 6 times in a row. We have been saying wait til next year for 5 years now.... I'm tired of hearing it.
its gonna take time. cant make a chocolate cake with flour and eggs. got to have the right ingrediants. Its gonna happen...and i know all about having to listen to barners...two parents and a work place full of them. i can wait-got no other choice

For the third straight week we had a very poor game plan
and on top of that our play calling was very poor as well and
nobody is to blame except the offensive coachs and they know who they are and coach Saban needs to jack them out of shape.

Other then that I am so sick and tired of having losing seasons it's not even funny.

Flame me,laugh at me or tell me that I am crazy but I am right about everything that said is this post because I watched the whole game.

I think the use of the word 'very' probably takes your post out of the thread of reality. We wanted to establish the run but until you get more consistent in the passing game (which is hard to do with the current state of our OL and QB), you won't have the balance you need to move the football.

Ok, I have 3 things that have made this season a little bearable...

1. Fran got fired.....no stepping down...he's fired!!

2. The season of underachieving is over

3. And hopefully Bama will have a fantastic recruiting class to get rid of the dead weight on the team.

PS: Bench JPW next season and let Star play
PSS: We need a new OC, CMA is about as Vanilla as it gets. Do you all realize that we didn't even try one trick play this year????????

nobody is to blame for those two things except coach Major
Applewhite and coach Joe Pendry and coach Saban needs to rip both of them a new one.

Next time we'll tell the coaches to not include the missed FG, the dropped TD for an INT, and the boneheaded penalties in the gameplan...

Seriously, can we not tell that this was a much better called game than any game during the previous 4 years?

IMO, playcalling (persistence to stay with the run) was one of the biggest things that kept us in the game...Coffee and Upchurch ran as hard as any Bama backs have run all year...and they ran a variety of running plays to keep Barn on their feet...

I suppose we bama fans can do what we do best: Keep talking about our past and looking to next year, which seems to be what we do every year.

I hope the future is better, I really do, but for the season to end the way it did with these FOUR STRAIGHT LOSSES.... I am not so sure.

I don't think we should play in a bowl.

If somehow we get an invite, we need to turn it down.

Roll Tide.

Dumbest remark of the night. Turn down more practice time?

I don't think we're busting on CMS - he's welcome at my house for a beer and some BBQ anytime. But he did contribute to a problem that CDF began with not recruiting enough quality and quantity at OL.

I've hears a lot of people complain about how the team got worse towards the end of the season. To that I say: DUH! We lost two OL starters to suspension and a third to injury--and the OL wasn't exactly world lcass to begin with. What did you THINK was going to happen? The Tenn game may have given people a false sense of progress, but when you look at it, that was quite possibly one of the worst coaching jobs in Fulmer's career--and that's saying something.

This was a classic Iron Bowl. Both coaches called conservative, field position-type games. We had our chances, and didn't capitalize, leaving 10 points on the field and giving them 7 with that stupid roughing the passer call. That's the ball game right there, guys.

Stand tall, Bama. The Tide has turned, and it will return strong.

great post...thanks...

RTR...

My venting:

Jack lb play disappointing. All the jack lb accounted for tonight was a missed sack due to headhunting and a boneheaded roughing the passer penalty.

Ok folks, plain as day as to the problem on the team: remember when TO played for the Eagles? How cohesive was that team?

You call the plays that you can execute. Calling deep ball plays is no good if the qb won't throw them.

Passing against zone coverage has been a weakness all year, this game was no different, Muschamp deserves credit for sticking to his guns.

Kudos to RM for showing up with his A game and a big chip on his shoulder. RU, GC played great as well.

It sums up this senior class that most of the critical mistakes were made by seniors.

2 penalties on Auburn? Yea right!

As far as the freshman offensive lineman for Auburn go, they should be fairly proficient at chop blocking by now. That is the dirtiest move in football, even performed "legally."

This season has laid the foundation Alabama fans, and there's a reason why foundations are underground. It's because they're not very pretty.

We just lost our 6th straight to Barn. But I'm still a Bama fan and nothing will change that. Let the Barners gloat. I don't care, I'm still a Bama fan. I've always been a Bama fan and I always will. Yes, i'm mad, upset, PO'ed, etc., but I still love Bama football and I know that brighter days are ahead.
Roll Tide
