6 years is plenty of time. In 2002, we had them. Heck even in 2004 we had them and let them slip out. 2005, as good a team as we had, we should of at least put up a game. I am not just talking about this year or next year. 6 years and not one win? CNS will get it turned around no doubt, but Alabama as a whole should beat Au at least once every 6 years.

For the third straight week we had a very poor game plan
and on top of that our play calling was very poor as well and
nobody is to blame except the offensive coachs and they know who they are and coach Saban needs to jack them out of shape.

Other then that I am so sick and tired of having losing seasons it's not even funny.

Flame me,laugh at me or tell me that I am crazy but I am right about everything that said is this post because I watched the whole game.

This game plan was Sabans, Both teams wanted to run the ball and play defense. They have better backs and a better front seven.

Ok, I have 3 things that have made this season a little bearable...

1. Fran got fired.....no stepping down...he's fired!!

2. The season of underachieving is over

3. And hopefully Bama will have a fantastic recruiting class to get rid of the dead weight on the team.

PSS: We need a new OC, CMA is about as Vanilla as it gets. Do you all realize that we didn't even try one trick play this year????????

Regarding your PSS.....are you sure it's CMA and not the ability of the current players???? Just wondering??

What I don't understand is why it seems to be a multi-year project to rebuild the OL.

Auburn threw three freshmen in there this year ... and more or less dominated in the trenches tonight.

Depressing.

I'm glad you posted this, because I was trying to find a nice way to say it... and failing.

To the comments about the play calling. We HAD to try to establish the run....if we had gone finesse, you could have popped in a tape of the '05 game and seen how that goes. Actually, I saw very little difference between our game plan and the cow's. Due to Wilson/Cox's predilection for making mistakes that can lose the game, both teams effectively took their QB's out of it. They did a better job of executing on the 5 or so plays that made the difference in the game. That's what football is all about, those few plays. Show me a set of plays on offense we were tearing through their defense on and then got away from. Auburn bogged down Arkansas using the exact same gameplan.....they play defense and run the ball....one day I hope we can get back to doing the same.

The word for today is "continuity." Tuberville is classless scum, but he's classless scum who knows how to put together a competent, stable staff.

Any of our OL with experience have been tainted by the crap they were taught by Bob "No one bull rushes anymore" Connelly. Those guys have to be retrained, which is usually harder than training then correctly the first time.

Ok folks, plain as day as to the problem on the team: remember when TO played for the Eagles? How cohesive was that team?

Exactly. I talked to my dad during the half, re: the DJ bobble and int in the end zone. I told him that I hate it happened to us, but if it had to happen to a Bama WR, I'm glad it was DJ. I can't stand the showboating and egocentric behavior some of these guys have shown in the past few years. I'll be glad to have some of them out of Crimson, but this one in particular. I don't care how good of a wide out he is.

Well, for the 6th year in a row I am glad I don't live in Alabama! Hey, what can I say? Roll Tide, and here is to the house cleaning that will take place in the off-season (and I don't mean the coaches either).

D.J. has meant a lot to our team over the past few years ... but I have always felt he was overrated as a playmaking WR.

He has the stats, no doubt ... but JPW has set some all-time Bama records, too.

They have both benefited statistically from being the spotlight guys during a period when Bama was throwing the ball more than ever.

If we ever get a quality offensive line that stays healthy and plays together as a unit for the entire season, we don't have this conversation.

We're gaining on it, but building teams and breaking bad habits takes a lot of time and a lot of patience. I hate to go cliche, but it really is a process.

The game of football is won and lost in the trenches. You can trace every one of our losses this year to the inability of the offensive line to block people.

We block, we win. We don't, we lose. It really is that simple.

It doesn't matter if you're a freshman or a senior. If you have the talent, and you play every snap of every game together as a unit, you will succeed.

Our offensive line has scarcely played two games together as a unit, and there are maybe two on the line this year who could cash checks at the next level.

AU's offensive line had plenty of trouble blocking our guys tonight. We were getting good penetration on almost every play. We lost containment on a few, but Auburn's OL has been the source of all their troubles this year, too.

How many times must it be said? The game of football is won and lost in the trenches.

Watched the game on the West Coast with my USC family. Everybody rooted for Alabama but, like many posters on here, my dad and brother had many questions regarding a lack of the deep ball (which worked against LSU a few times), running the ball up the middle too many times, and a lack of creativity. I told them that the situation that CNS had inherited is a bit more complex than just lining up and playing. I reminded them that they're much more used to good football from watching USC than me watching Alabama the past two years.

Quite honestly, after the ULM loss, I essentially just wanted to see if anything good came out of the Auburn game and whatever bowl game we play (if we do). My gut told me that we weren't going to beat Auburn and yet, some of y'all were expecting an Alabama blowout. Truth is that we don't have the depth, and the talent that we do have, simply DO NOT CARE ENOUGH to realize that they need to prepare to the best of their ability and play to the best of their ability. I can't believe how many opportunities we had in this game to seriously put a dent in Auburn's hopes of winning the game. We do not penetrate on defense, we missed at least 2-3 sacks because we couldn't wrap up Cox, we had the hardest time punching in the lone TD on the freaking 1-yd line...the list goes on. I have no doubt in my mind that CNS is the right coach and he has the right staff (CMA included), and I know that winter/spring practices will hopefully weed out the remaining bad elements to this team. We need a serious attitude makeover and CNS is going to get it done sooner or later.
