Is Brodie trying to be too perfect?

He definitely seems to be "spooked" or something. He has looked totally different out there the past few games. He just eats the ball and takes the sack--again and again. 11 sacks in one game??!! JPW played well. I wish we'd seen him earlier.

Proud to be alive and proud of this TEAM!!!

lol, that is a great quote. When Bama won the NC in 1992, I was living/working in Czechoslovakia. This was before the World Wide Web . . . info about Bama was all too scarce. In fact, there was absolutely nothing about American college football unless I could score an international copy of USA...

The Defense Did Its Job, Yet Again

Although they were put in a terrible position, giving up 21 points a quarter isn't getting it done. If they held Auburn out of the endzone we'd have had a competitive game. This is not to disparage our D, but they fell short today in the one stat that matters--scoring.

This game was the best thing that could have happened to us.

I agree. That's what is most troubling about our offense. I saw no improvement over the course of the year, only a steady decline. I don't believe our talent is being utilized well on that side of the ball. I don't believe there is a consistent Shula/Rader philosophy. With our defense, a...

Shula's Use of the Tennis Ball Feeding Machine

There's an old saying: "Three things can happen when you pass, and 2 of 'em are bad." With Alabama you might as well say five things can happen, and four of 'em are bad. 1. Completion 2. Incompletion (respectable) 3. Interception 4. Incompletion (DROPPED PASS!) 5. SACK This is why I don't...

    big hit on brodie

Brodie seemed to give up almost from the snap. I do think JPW would've been more effective. Heck, a rag doll would've been more effective. On the bright side, we held Auburn to under 20 sacks! :eek2:

    Most embarrassing butt kicking since....

Biggest since Shula's first season (take your choice of game, Ole Miss or Georgia). I saw the Southern Miss butt-kicking in 2000. That was a bad one, too. This one is worse because it was at the hands of Auburn. How does your team not get motivated against AUBURN? :frown:

Who starts at QB for the bowl game?

I'd be comfortable with starting JPW, or at least playing him a lot. The bowl would offer great experience, laying the foundation for next year. Brodie doesn't even try to release the ball without taking the sack. He just takes the sack. Like others here, I suspect that something's wrong with...

    The Truth

Nah, we don't need our own Al Borges. We're doing great. 3 touchdowns in 5 SEC games! Steve Spurrier, eat your heart out. Seriously, if CMS would hire a great OC he would be set. We're 3 years into the Rader/Shula system, and our offense is the worst in the league. Vanderbilt fields a much...

    The Bad Calls

Oh, when I clicked on this thread I thought you meant bad PLAY calls. :eek2:

    Tuberville=No Class

I've been deleted a couple of times today by moderators (whom I can only assume are teenagers?) for expressing my opinion. So let me just say this: Tuberville showed no class. He has no right to celebrate his 4th straight victory over Alabama. Alabama outplayed Auburn today. Our offensive...

Did Prothro's & Closner's injury really get us here?

I'm tired of hearing injuries as excuses. I didn't expect Bama to win today, but I did expect effort. I did expect a competitive game. Why can't our offense at least be up to Vanderbilt standards? Is that really asking too much?

    Brodie's "Legacy"

I respect his contributions to the team. I think he should've been benched in favor of JPW in the 2nd half. Brodie's performance (two steps back, crouch, drop to the ground) speaks for itself. He's a great guy from a great family, but that has nothing to do with his performance at QB. 11...

    Awful/Adjustments/and other rant threads merged

Then I will plead ignorant. How many sacks did Croyle end up taking? I think it reached double digits...perhaps in the first half?! I noted that JPW took over the QB spot and actually RELEASED the ball before taking the sack. I will also lay blame at Shula's feet for calling these plays. Our...
