Marty Smith Jalen Milroe Interview

I like Milroe, but there is something I can’t quite put my finger on. His demeanor during interviews when Saban is there is odd. Where players like Arnold and Kool-aid are connected with Coach, Milroe seems a little detached.

I think he ends up going Pro this year. I sense a self promoter Vs someone being a humble leader. I appreciate his growth and talent, but I think he’s gone.

I hope my gut is wrong. Something just hits me wrong at times.

His stock is high right now

Yeah don't get that vibe at all. The Team rallied around him and absolutely loves him.

I don't get that feeling at all.

I think he's just being respectful and not wanting to interrupt CNS when he's talking. He comes off maybe even a bit shy where CNS has to nudge him to answer a question in pressers.

He' s also always deflecting the answer away from himself when asked and brings up all of his teammates and coaches and how it's a team thing and not him.

I completely agree. It certainly doesn’t seem like he and Saban have a connection like the last several that have played that position. It just feels a bit strained.

I will say that I got a little emotional this morning when watching the SEC final replay. After the first few weeks, I thought this team would lose four or five games. They just kept getting better and making plays and getting better and making plays... I don't really think I have ever felt proud of a team that I wasn't on or wasn't coaching, but I think pride is what I felt this morning. I guess it could have been extreme satisfaction, but it was a nice feeling either way. Roll Tide!

I noticed last night during the post-game interview with Jenny Dell (HOT) that Milroe was literally staring off into space when she was addressing Saban. She even said his name and looked at Milroe, and he kept staring off. I will chalk it up to the shock of the moment and Milroe proving all the naysayers wrong, of which I was the founding member. He has earned my respect.

You may be right, but another year of development with a real QB coach/OC will do him a world of good. He could be the number one pick if he comes back and continues to develop. He will make a killing with NIL especially if they get in the CFP and win.

There is a clip of him crying in a coaches arms after the game. I think it was all just overwhelming for him. I was critical of him also. I am happy to eat my crow sandwich now. Way to go kid!!!!

I think if this Jalen could ask Jalen Hurts he would tell him to embrace being challenged to become a better player-quarterback. If Tua never shows up at Bama I don’t think Jalen Hurts would be where he is now. I can see why Milroe may have had his feelings hurt due to bringing in another QB (Buckner) to challenge him and being benched game 3. This has made him a better player. RTR

same with me. I am sorry I ever doubted.

The only thing I will miss about CBS is Jenny.
