Crime Blotter: Georgia player arrest catch all thread - the thread we never knew we needed

I’ve never been to Athens (hoping to change that this fall and see t Hardy Morris) but as I understand it there’s a lot of open road outside the city. Maybe the police just wait around a popular race/speed spot and it’s just easy pickens for them. Most small towns have a stretch of road like that. Not excusing it just saying that’s the only way this makes sense to me

How does this happen over and over and over and over again?
how does a grown man with tens of millions of dollars end up with a haircut like this

you can take the kid out of georgia ...
Well it wasn't speeding so there is that. Just guessing here but obstructing sidewalk sounds like parked on the sidewalk. Obstructing police sounds like he might have pulled the old "do you know who I am?" Again just guessing

“K-9 chew toy if you keep the attitude up “ - would be an acceptable reply in that circumstance.

I have a friend that is a cop and he told me that he once pulled over a minor celebrity that pulled the "do you know who I am?" card. He told the celebrity "someone that just broke the law and is getting a ticket"

I guess that is what’s so fascinating about people: I can’t imagine a universe where my head is so far up my own rear that I could say that and not be joking.

My late father in law was the medical director for a drug and alcohol treatment facility. His patients at times included college and professional athletes, politicians and celebrities.

His position was “we have a treatment program. We don’t do “special circumstances”. You want help? You’re the same as others here. The gate out front swings “out” the very same way it swings “in”. You make the choice.”

When facing the “ don’t you understand who I am?” question, his response was usually “someone I’ll put through treatment multiple times most likely before you “get it”, or someone that ends up in prison or a cemetery because of your own arrogance”.

I had a friend who when he got pulled over started asking the cop if he knew so and so (cops we played softball with). Cop told him that everybody knew somebody, he got a ticket.

For some reason, UGA wants to stick it to Alabama, but not the rest of the SEC, for having fewer legal problems than they do.

IOW, Alabama and Georgia recruit a lot of the same players. So the fact that they get into more trouble in Athens than in Tuscaloosa is proof positive that Alabama covers it up.

It never occurs to them that, while all other SEC schools have their miscreants, nobody has as many as UGA. So that's evidence that 15 of the 16 schools pay off cops, but snow-pure UGA is the sole honest reporter of its problems?

I think Chandler LeCroy's and Devin Willock's parents would beg to differ. Assuming that their settlement allows them to speak at all.

The morons over here think Saban paid off cops and is still paying off cops to this day. Some radio morons flat out said it.
