BREAKING Holloway arrested on marijuana charge - 03.16.26

Are you this dumb?
How in the world do you think the coaching staff is supposed to keep up with all these kids 24/7?
AH made his own decision.
Don't lay that at the feet of the coaches.
Sometimes you can do all you can to steer people right and they just go left........
Yes, we disagree means I'm dumb.
Pitiful
Leaders are by judged results of their team, followers, platoon, etc. Just the way it is

So, any idea how's our offense and defense is going to evolve without Holloway, who was responsible for 18 or so points a game?

Which raises another question for me. All I ever hear about these days are edibles. Are the masses still actually smoking large quantities of marijuana with all of it's associated downsides (smell, indiscreet, bad for your lungs, rolling/smoking paraphernalia all over the place, etc.)? Is it just easier to get compared to edibles?

It just seems to me that having an occasional "vitamin" gummy would be a lot more discreet for a high profile person looking to conceal their activities.

I think in states like Alabama it’s actually less risky to smoke actual weed flower instead of eating edibles.

People usually buy the edibles from legitimate storefronts or online retailers for use in states where it’s legal and those places can not ship to a state like Alabama.

Also there has been a major crackdown on edibles including previously legal versions that are Delta 8 or Delta 9 primarily instead of THC.

The reason is because kids have accidentally ate the edibles thinking they are candy because they look like candy.

You could hypothetically get busted with a single edible of Delta 8 or Delta 9 and it’s a Class C Felony when a THC joint would be a misdemeanor.

So most people in states like Alabama are smarter to just do the real thing.

Not 2 Pounds of the real thing mind you.

Yeah, I looked into Metallica tickets too. Prices were nuts. 3 day concert 3 different shows.

Eagles could be good. Last time ever too.

If I could time travel I would so go back and catch Metallica in 1984-86.

Those 1st 3 Albums were Top Shelf Thrash and they absolutely ripped live.

I think Megadeth is coming to the Atlanta area on their final tour this spring and I’m already kicking myself for not going.

Anyway back to the weed…lol

So unprecedented success means nothing? The overall trend of the basketball program is pointed upwards.

Finishing #2 in the conference.

And *some* are saying they are through with this year's team - they've lost interest.

Goodness gracious.......this is when things get interesting.....see how the team responds when there's a setback.

Demonstration of a team (and fan's) character!

You do realize Saban also had a drug dealer on one of his teams? And that was not weed, it was much worse. Should Alabama have fired him then?
In fairness, he inherited him from Shula. Even Coach Bryant dealt with this. I don't remember details, but in the early 70s there were drug issues going on. I read about it in Keith Dunnavant's book "Coach." It's been many years since I read the book, so I don't recall details.

No coach is immune to these issues.

I think some here would be shocked how common things like this is among NCAA programs across the country.
They and probably most would be shocked at how common even here in the last 20 years under football. 99% doesn’t come out in open. Ignorance is bliss.

Stop the personal characterizations. That is not a request.

Disagree and debate all you want. But do so respectfully and without sarcasm or insult.

Just say you see the question differently and present your logic. No need to denigrate a different idea or anyone holding that idea.

The next poster who says an opposing opinion is dumb or similar gets a vacation.

I wonder if anyone on the team, or any other UA team, just lost their dealer.

Question: I’ve heard it reported that Holloway got popped in traffic stop in Tuscaloosa weekend before last (weekend of the final game of season with Auburn). He had less than a half and ounce of weed, cooperated with the investigating officer(s) and was ticketed at that time.
Has anyone else heard that and do we know if it has any validity? I’ve searched but can’t seem to find anything about it.

This happened and it was reported it had nothing to do with him being searched at his home. Whether that is the actual truth or not who knows but it is the story that law enforcement is going with.

Sounds like somebody might have snitched. Police don't raid random houses for no reason. Unless the cops got suspicious after the traffic stop and got a warrant and then searched his house.
