Decline of the GOP - XVII

Ron Johnson: "I was disappointed in the Supreme Court justices. The Constitution is not a suicide pact. Maybe their ruling will be on the law and Constitution, but you have to look at the bigger picture here."
And - he solidifies his position of being the only senator possibly as dumb as Tuberville. He doesn't want the SCOTUS to rule on the constitution and law, but on the "bigger picture." He probably really does believe there are millions of Chinese flying over to have babies. Hell, even if there were, we have 18 years to wait before they can vote and, moreover, they'll have to move to the US and establish residency in a state. Now, how many are going to do that?

No kidding... For a party that is idolizing hypermasculinity and lethality... JD is just weird looking.

What's funny is how they thought the first President Bush was namby-pamby and a "wimp."

But I don't know of very many guys who got shot down during WW2 bombing Japan, captain of the baseball team who played first base at Yale, suffered through the unimaginable loss of a daughter to leukemia, worked as an oilman and later took skydiving jumps out of a plane in his 80s up to turning 90.

This obsession on "looks tough, talks tough but isn't actually tough" is gonna be our undoing.

Ford played football, Carter was on a submarine, Reagan was a lifeguard, Bush was a fighter pilot, and McCain was a POW for over five years. But the obsessive clowns in the GOP nowadays think tough if pounding your chest like an ape and then backing off "because it's 47-dimensional chess." Even Bob Dole was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge (when Oprah fell on him). And most of those guys served in WW2 save McCain, who served in Vietnam.

I take one look at Vance and say, "That's a pretty boy with an effeminate hair trim."

If there is any doubt that MAGA is nothing more than an autocrat's wet dream, VP Vance is on his way to Hungary to shore up autocrat Orban in Hungary.

And is it just a coincidence that Orban is also an ally of Putin?

We can certainly thank Trump for today's gas prices. He bears full responsibility for the dramatic increase.

The hilarious thing is that generally speaking everybody KNOWS that it's not like the President sits up there and says, "Gas will be $3/gallon." There's a little he can do - but not much - to affect gas prices.

But then you have this guy who has managed to bungle the war he started.

Yeah, remember the recession in 08? No one was working, yet gas companies had record profits. I had a friend that worked for the construction side of Racetrak. He was still getting bonuses like usual.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp-

I think for Republicans, we cannot be a party of one or a party of one ideal. We have to be a big-tent party. I think there are a lot of folks that get shortsighted and go, “You weren’t with the president on this one issue, or you weren’t with whoever on this one issue,” and we gotta give people a little grace. The Democrats are good at doing that. People have different principles. I can disagree with somebody as long as I know that they’re disagreeing on principle, and then we’ll move on and work together on the next issue.

But also, I’m not sticking my hand in saying, “Hey, everything’s going to be great in November.” This is going to be a tough cycle for us. We’ve got to have candidates that really stay focused on the issues that people care about. It’s why also, I think we need something different at the top of the ticket to help...

Does it matter?

Both are abandoning the US constitution and the principles of the religion they claim to follow to support a mad man who falsely substitutes himself as a savior while spreading wickedness and deceit. You know, an Antichrist.

"We know we campaigned on saving the country, but honestly, we don't really care," said Senate Majority Leader John Thune. "You know how it is. You want to get elected, and you figure out what the voters really want to hear from you, so you just say stuff. All that jazz about election integrity and passing voter ID legislation… it's not something we're all that interested in. We hope the American people will understand that we're mostly just wanting to stay in power and maintain the status quo. Until we're up for re-election, that is. Then, we'll really be committed to turning things around."
