Kiffin Bringing Orgeron Back to LSU As Special Assistant

I don't know if anyone noticed that Johnny Jones was fired in 2017, Ed was fired in 2021 and Will Wade fired in 2022. They all came back this year.

I don't care what anyone says... but this is bad personnel move for Kiffin. Ed has been out of game since 2021 and you expect him to jump in and suddenly make defense better this fall? This whole thing reminds me of Saban/Kiffin/Steele thing that year. Recently, LSU AD said they're going back to Saban model.... so if that's the case... They're in it for a rough season this fall. Saban model under NIL collective?
Why do I feel like this is all entangled in the firing of the AD, then President, then the Governor taking control of the hiring process. What was the timeline on all those things?

This, shall we say,.............will not end well for all involved.
These two won't be able to help themselves and will do something so incredibly stupid and if it's a rules thing then LSU may be in the cage for a while.

I lean towards it not working and maybe some hard feelings on the way out, if it works out it can be a good thing, if it doesn't get the popcorn 🍿

Special Ed won a national championship at LSU.

The Hat as well.

These two ironies - I will never understand.

Maybe it's like a stopped clock - right, twice a day.
I've got a saying when it comes to sports, "Players matter". You can have the best coach on the planet, but if he doesn't have good athletes odds are even his great coaching ability will not compensate for not having good players.

I would venture to say in most youth, HS, and college sporting events, there is one team with more talent than the other and the greater that gap is, the more likely that the team with the better talent will win, regardless of coaching. There are games where teams are evenly matched talent wise and that's when you're coaching really comes into play. But most of the time, the team with the most talent, wins.

Ed and The Hat both had very, very talented rosters and in my opinion their coaching was more of a side show than the reason those teams won.
