I was at that game and remember the come back, but can you identify a specific play call or moment that you remember thinking was a great call?
I just remember JPW being cool as the other side of the pillow that last drive.
Like you, I'm not sure who called it, but really, the fact the offense came in and drove the field on the LSU defense when they had done NOTHING the whole second half is one of the great momentum coups I can ever remember.
But, I'd put that credit square on AJM for that. Proved himself to have...
Whew...I remember how much GMac was struggling. It was about all we could do, but the fact CNS just stuck to it took alot of guts.
And yes, they couldn't stop it! That was kind a one of MI's Heisman moments!
Yes, we played safe-defense on that punt and Kirby still ran it.
And the play looked like it was supposed to be Fields running to the left with the option to pitch back to the kicker/punter, but we had it so sniffed out that Fields abandoned the play and tried to improvise and hardly gained...
In a recent thread, I mentioned that I think CNS's greatest strength was his ability to recruit/develop players.
There were times his "game time" decisions made me scratch my head or just flat out frustrated me (like not using his TOs effectively). It just proved he was human.
However, in...
Fair points.
And until CKD wins a NC (which I believe he will if he keeps recruiting at this pace) the Bama Nation will have these questions.
Many people believe great coaches have made Bama, but I believe Bama also makes great coaches. CNS, as good as he was pre-Bama, got even better at...
Yep, outside of 2009, pretty much all our recent NCs had those contributing factors.
And, in this modern era, you don't have to be elite on defense to win a NC. But you pretty much have to have the horses on the offensive side to outscore the better teams!
As I normally do this time of the year, I go back and watch some of our games from a few years back.
I recently watched our 2018 game against Ole Miss, which we completely dominated, winning 62-7. In this particular game, Tua was nearly perfect. Jalen played late in the second quarter in...
Even if the mental side clicks eventually, I'm not sure his arm talent will allow him to succeed.
JH had/has arm talent. He wasn't as accurate as Tua but who is? But once he started to understand coverages, footwork and timing, he started to succeed, even at Bama, OU and obviously now in the...
Maybe not, but Bama still gets everybody's attention and focus. I suspect they'll be a tough opener just because "we are Bama."
They could play us in a nail-biter and then collapse a game or two later when they play a team they are supposed to beat.
Who knows?
I hope "the model" is wrong. 9-3 record at the end of the regular season will make for a tough off season for CKD.
No way we end 6-6. No way!
11-1 is a great regular season in the modern SEC.
But even If we drop a couple of regular season games but make the playoffs and show a trend of...
I'm sure we'll discuss this more in detail as the game week approaches. While I'm very confident we'll get the ship turned in the right direction this year, I'm trying to be realistic that changes might not happen as fast as I want them to happen.
I think the QB role will play a huge role in...
It may stick, but this one feels like it might not be over.
I know nothing, but I know our staff won't stop being in his ear until he signs on the dotted line.
And if Tank thought "committing" to be a Duck would make his life easier right now, imagine all the Alabamians who'll be harassing him...
He's the media guy who is the easiest of them all to ignore IMO. I mean, had this not been posted here, I would not know anything he's done or said in a long time.
I honestly think his bias against Bama is so strong that he's deceived himself into thinking those types of teams should be more...
