Women's Basketball - Alabama Women's Basketball Drops SEC Tournament Game to LSU, 58-

Would have definitely liked to have seen us advance to second round, BUT the slow process of rebuilding this once proud program IS moving in the right direction. Have to develop some better shooters to get into the middle tier of the conference. Being alongside USC, UK, A&M is a pipe dream right...

    16 ???

About 8-9 years ago I purchased an NCAA record book FROM THE nccaa.com website. It had us listed IN BLACK and WHITE as National Champions (along with other schools) as National Champs in 1966, 1977, 1945, and 1963 But we don't claim them. As all the folks here have explained from 1869-1998...

News Article: Great Article on David Palmer and Coach Stallings

Great article and glad to hear The Deuce is doing well. I truly think Coach Saban is from the same vein of Coach Bryant and Stalling in teaching "life lessons". We all made mistakes, especially in our early twenties, but it's nice to see someone learn from them and not let it hamper them as they...

RollTide.com Basketball - Alabama Basketball Programs Usher in 2015-16 Basketball Season with Tide

For the first time in what seems like an eternity, there is genuine excitement about the Men's team (and I think Coach Curry will continue to improve the women's as well). I hope everyone is patient with CAJ as I feel the true payoff will come next year or maybe even the year after that. The SEC...

Question: Anyone miss the Legion Field games?

I know I'm in the minority but YES!! I miss it. Like a lot of y'all, I was a kid and teenager in the 70's and 80's and just remember the "feeling" of the Old Gray Lady. And, being a youngster, being in a place that seated 75,000 (before the second upper deck opened with club seats in the early...

    Doug Layton has passed away

If you've ever had a chance to read "Above the Noise of the Crowd" by John Forney, you know how close Doug was with John. A great guy, an Alabama Man and brought a lot of joy to us in those days before every single game being televised.

    Softball #6 overall seed

Great showing this past weekend. Gonna be tough against the Sooners who have been a top 10 team all year. Keep their HR's under control and we should be heading to OKC. Can't wait till Friday evening.

    Softball #6 overall seed

Wait, I think it's Oklahoma as the 11 seed who'd travel to T Town in the Supers.

    Softball #6 overall seed

"The Sheriff" Pat Murphy and the Crimson Tide secured a great seed- Most likely facing #11 seed Washington at The Rhoads House in the super regionals. I was worried we might get an 8 or 9. Really need Osorio, Jury, Littlejohn to be dominant.

Women's Basketball - Nikki Hegstetter Honored by Culverhouse College of Commerce as T

Great work Nikki!! Truly a class act on and off the court. Provided great leadership during her time in the program and helped build a foundation for better things to come with Coach Curry.

    And now Jonathan Taylor....again

I have zero doubt that CNS talked to everyone he could about JT and this was a university decision. Sure, he's a great FB player, BUT I sincerely believe CNS felt he could help the young man. The documented fact that he's stayed in former players' lives and offered them guidance and assistance...

JessN: Decision on Grant is more complex than it looks

Maybe I'm grasping at reasons why they refuse to can him. CBB is a short timer, they truly think he's the answer, they are all insane, might get flack from the AA community- I just can't figure it out as an outsider.

JessN: Decision on Grant is more complex than it looks

I'm thinking the BOT and CBB do not want the bad PR from firing a mediocre coach and the "heat" that would come from it from SOME media types. After the UAB mess and the fact CAG is the first African American HC of a "major" sport. They may be just PRAYING he turns it around in 2015-16 to avoid...

    Post season thread...

Coach Battle got off to a nice start with pushing through the new baseball facility. I'm afraid if he lets this thing fester any "good graces" he earned taking over for Mal could be all but forgotten. As for any postseason play in any sport, I hope the young guys benefit from it- BUT- If Bama...

    Post season thread...

Is there any chance CAG/CBB decline an invite to the NIT? I think not but this year more than most is a HUGE disappointment to not go Big Dancing. If we do go, here's to a deep run to NYC Final Four at least.

Same story all year guys played hard, just no coaching adjustments and mental errors galore

    End of Season Poll

I'm starting to think at least 2 will transfer as well. That would be a disaster as there is no way we'd look like a tourney team in 2015-16. This time tomorrow, we may be learning a lot about CBB and his ability to make the tough decision.

Grant, Compared To Other SEC Coaches During His Tenure

Don't mean to bring up a new topic within a thread, but memory fails. Was Stansbury fired? forced out? retired? Really can't remember. Rick Ray is turrble. That program is definitely one that's taken two steps back.

JessN: Decision on Grant is more complex than it looks

I know rumors are rumors and twitter posts are even less reliable but it sure sounds like CAG is going to get one more year to prove he can produce a 20 win season with an NCAA berth. The buyout, the rash of injuries, the "oh so close" losses, and the fact he IS an incredibly good guy at a time...

    Womens' Hoops SEC Tourney

Wishing the Lady Tiders luck in Little Rock. A win (or 2!) would be a fantastic way to wrap up the year. Then hit that recruiting trail HARD!
