Re: 2010 Alabama Commitments and Prospects List (Updated 8/24)

RB Storm Johnson is again considering Bama. It looks like FSU is the favorite right now but he says he has opened things back up and Bama is among the teams he is interested in.

"Florida State is pretty high," he continued. "I mean I don't really have a number for them. I have a good strong six or seven. You can add Ole Miss, Alabama, and Kentucky. I'm just taking everything slow. I really want to look at each school and see where I fit in. I consider everybody even."

The latest on QB Michael Strauss is that he remains firmly committed to Tulane. He is not interested in Bama's grayshirt offer and he will not be visiting Bama. I am removing him from the 2010 Alabama Commitments and Prospects List.

This one didn't really surprise me. We'll have tremendous depth at the QB position going into the spring of 2011, when he would finally enroll and be able to compete. Of course, that doesn't even count the QB prospects we could sign on NSD 2011.

JUCO WR Treyvias Alexander says Bama is showing him some interest but he does not have an Alabama offer.

Scout.com: Juco standout adds offers
What does Treyvias bring to the table as a player?

"Jumping ability, hands, everything. I had like a million coaches come see me in the spring. I couple dropped me some offers like USM, Ole Miss, La Tech, UL Lafayette, Utah State, and Tulsa. Those are the ones I stay in touch with the most. There are a couple more like MSU that I stay in touch with a lot too. MSU told me they are about to offer. Alabama, California, Texas Tech, Florida, Oklahoma State, South Florida, and Memphis are all talking about it (offer), but I have not gotten any letters yet."

On Aug. 2nd Kyle Prater named his top four and Bama was not included. He was removed from this prospect list at that time.

Here is Rivals.com article on Prater's announcement today. I Still have not seen where he picked yet. it certainly looks like he will pick the Trojans.

There's no lack of drama surrounding the announcement, either. Prater, located in the heart of Notre Dame country, has a top five of (in alphabetical order): Illinois, ND, Oklahoma, Tennessee and USC.

For the Trojans, pairing Prater with recent verbal commitment Robert Woods would complete the most impressive duo of wideouts in the country for the 2010 Class.

Here is the first report that Prater will indeed chose the Trojans.

Proviso West receiver Prater selects Southern California -- chicagotribune.com
All along, the recruiting battle for Kyle Prater seemed destined to boil down to one decision: How close to home the Proviso West star wanted to play his college football.

Apparently Prater isn't concerned about airfares these days. The 6-foot-4-inch, five-star recruit is expected to announce Wednesday an oral commitment to play for Southern California starting in 2010, a person close to Prater told the Tribune.
