What is going on behind the scenes at FSU? It seems like Jimbo has been trying to get out of there for some time. I suppose aTm is a bigger check and they have excellent facilities, but the pressure and competition in the west is significant.

I think the relationship between JF and the administration there has deteriorated quite a bit in recent years. Unkept promises on facility upgrades and more money for assistant coaches have been the biggest issues iirc...

jeez, $10milliion dollar buy out for Sumlin. Seriously, drive Uber. With $10million in the bank, who needs/wants stress of coaching?

So, Ole Miss, MSU, Arkansas, TAMU need new HCs. The four SEC West bottom feeders. Gonna be a hard sell except for TAMU. Yeah, I could see Kiffin to FSU if Jimbo heads to College Station. Looks like Florida and UT upgraded quite a bit. Next year should be very interesting.

He can't have been trying to leave for that long, can he? I'd assume if he wanted out he would have been LSUs coach last year.

Tennessee(state) political powers and the fan base have a very negative reaction to the Schiano news. Deal may not get done now..

Not really.

Ole Miss has cratered. MSU is about to lose Mullen and chances are will take a drastic step backwards. Arkansas is a dumpster fire. LSU is a crapshoot with Coach O. Auburn is a boom or bust program and will more likely be 7-5 next year than 11-1. Only Alabama has any sort of consistency.

I agree the pressure is ratcheted up, but the competition level ain’t what it was 4 or 5 years ago.

I agree with all of this -- but isn't in weird he'd turn down LSU last year only to take A&M this year?
