Equally disappointing is to look at State's roster and see how many Alabama players they have. Two of their best are from Auburn and Theodore. Heck, even Texas had a kid from Alabama on the field yesterday. If we could only keep some of those guys in state...

No, but its because there are only like 10 people on Tidefans who actually post on the Baseball board. With Alabama' last decade and a half in mediocrity I think most would take a national championship appearance anyway possible. I would still complain about how the NCAA has handled it regardless, but less mad about it.

But its really not the same question as the reality of the circumstance. The NCAA basically forced NC St to compete yesterday or suffer a 1 game forfeit. They werent looking out for safety they were looking out for their own interest. Had NC St won yesterday then MSU is celebrating a NC right now. The whole point was to ensure that they had a national championship series because they knew that there was no way NC St could continue, but they had to create a scenario in which Vanderbilt was a viable participant.

My whole point is this, the Friday game should have never been played with 13 players, and if you are going to go through that nonsense then you dont make a 2 am call on the Saturday game. The NCAA knew the reality of the situation, and chose money over health and fairness. Either give Vandy the pass Monday morning or have Game 2 Saturday. Dont create a worse situation. But it is what it is, and the NCAA is just as incompetent as ever.
Agree with you on all points. Just was curious on how we as a fan base would react. I am with you on our past mediocrity. We should be better.

For the love of God I would put my fist through the face of that whistling dillweed should I ever meet him. That's he's allowed to get away with it irks me to no end.
Well there are two things to know

1) there are 2 of them not just one.

2) one of them is a lawyer who keeps suing people for trying to stop him.

I really want to like Vandy but those two have made me despise the program because they are totally all for them doing it.

The whistlers are annoying. I have the kind of luck where my seats would be directly in front of them. I guess we know the consequences of a couple years ago when the CWS folks told them to stop or be removed - lawsuit. Since it isn't an artificial noisemaker there really isn't much that can be done. I'm surprised a few cowbells haven't found their way inside, even though they'd no doubt be confiscated. That the SEC allows them at MSU home football games still has me shaking my head. Try taking an artificial noisemaker into BDS. Heck, we went to Ole Miss a few years ago and they made us leave our shakers at the gate. I guess they knew we'd be scoring all day and they'd get tired of hearing those dreaded Bama shakers, lol.

Vandy scored 7 in the 1st inning and went on to crush State 8-2 in game 1. Leiter was too much for the Bullies. Game 2 is set for 6:00 tomorrow.

Agreed, I expect a more competitive game tonight. I think Vandy is pitching the 17 year old - asking him to tame the State bats may be more than he is ready to do. A Bednar v. Rocker duel would be interesting, so I'm hoping for a game 3.

These reviews have gotten to be just as lengthy as in football - maybe longer.

State responds in game 2 by thumping Vandy 13-2. We get a game 3 to determine the champion. I hope it is a terrific ending to the season.
