Was he? everything I heard and saw was that he was not last year or this past spring. Good news if in reality he was doing better than what’s heard.
this is what I heard as well. He wasn't really anywhere near pushing Ty, and was much more getting pushed by those behind him, especially KR down the stretch this spring. Development can happen at different stages for different guys though, and with him really only being the age of true sophomore, he's still got some time I'd think, but with 2 years in college systems hopefully he's got a really good handle on all the mental aspects and concepts so is just needing to continue to develop down the physical path.

there is some apprehension from Bama fans that money will play a big part in his decision process which is not a surprised with the advent of NIL. Oregon is definitely not going away as Tank mentioned he likes Lanning and their schemes. I think in the end as stated by many sources, the home school factor and distance will keep him home.
Agreed SJC and from the same interview he said this and it is only going to get worse until he commits and signs in December.

It’s getting a little stressful now,” Jones told reporters at Mobile County High School Media Day last Monday. “A lot of people are coming out of nowhere and texting me. Commitment coming up soon, so I’ve just been day-by-day, grinding, keeping my head down, staying humble.”

6 foot 7, 300 pounds ran a 4.7 40yd dash??
I saw this about Bear. I did not know he re-classified and the measurables are unique.

For starters, the Peach State native is supposed to be in the 2027 class. Also? He is a 6-foot-7, 296 pounder with 34 inch arms, a 81.5 inch wingspan, 10.25 inch hands, a 9-foot, 2-inch broad jump and recent 4.77 40-yard dash time. Those are rare numbers for any football player, let alone a reclassified high school prospect.

Also heard that they didn't believe the 4.7 so they made him run it again and he ran a 4.8! So he's legit and very athletic, believe we got a steal

The latest update on Tank Jones from 247 is that he could announce tomorrow or by end of the week.
Which is not a surprised as he has indicated in his recent HS media days.
Outside of Texas AM and Oregon, all sources are picking Bama as his choice.
He is committing tomorrow on the Pat McAfee show and though nobody really knows, it seems it could be either Bama or Oregon. I am sure regardless of who it is tomorrow, the top teams he has mentioned will still recruit him until signing day. Maybe he wants to stay home and play for Bama since he has been a Bama fan all his life. Or, he could just want to do something different and leave the state. I would imagine that although the NIL money is comparable, Oregon will probably offer more than others at the last minute. I guess I'd rather it be Oregon than Texas AM, but hope he picks Bama!

So now according to Tom Loy and 247 staff, they are leaning Oregon to land Tank tomorrow.
Fluid is an understatement in recruiting so anything and everything can happen.
NIL from Oregon as many have stated is a major factor for him and playing for Lanning as well.
We will see how much of a life long Bama fan he really is and playing at home means to him.

It would’ve been good to grab a local five star, but Alabama is capable of grabbing someone else’s five star.

Good luck to the young man, whichever way he goes.
