2026 Recruiting

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I saw this about Bear. I did not know he re-classified and the measurables are unique.

For starters, the Peach State native is supposed to be in the 2027 class. Also? He is a 6-foot-7, 296 pounder with 34 inch arms, a 81.5 inch wingspan, 10.25 inch hands, a 9-foot, 2-inch broad jump and recent 4.77 40-yard dash time. Those are rare numbers for any football player, let alone a reclassified high school prospect.

It depends on the reclass over here. My son is a 2027, and there are a LOT of kids in his class who basically started school a year late, and will be 19 either before, or right after they graduate. The 'required' start ages for school over here are a bit loose.

As with coaches contracts, I wonder if team successes are now being employed as financial incentives for players. Winning a national championship used to be an end unto itself. Has it or will it soon become a means to an end ? Winning a championship for “ dear ole U of A “ may well not mean what it once did.

If I were a kid, or a pop of a kid being recruited then I think I'd have to take the money too. I mean, anything can happen...medical issue, major injury, maybe complete washout and never sniff a chance at the league. Like others have said, it is a sign of the times and where we are as a society. I guess if we all weren't such big fans of this sport then none of this would be happening anyway. But the product is being ruined right before our eyes to me.

All true. If they don’t make the NFL at least they can say they made it to semi-pro.

bad news not likely unless he changes what he wants currently its all about the $$$. they are willing to pay 7 figures with rev share. Bama would rather go get a portal guy and keep their team and chemistry
I wonder if Nike suddenly bumped the duck’s uniform contract up, that counts as rev share, right?

its always been about the money since NIL inception. I like Justneedme optimism, but as I posted earlier that he will most likely change position at Oregon therefore he won't flip along with the $$$ aspect.
I am not at all disappointed, most of us agree he was a luxury at this point.

" My dream is to play in the NFL,” Kaawa said. “I’ve talked to coaches. I’ve talked to different players, and the ultimate thing is that Alabama is the best way to get to the NFL. Their background of putting players in the NFL is crazy, and just looking at them, I wanted to be the next player.”

Nice article on Kaawa background.
I am a bigger fan more than ever!

Rev share is a fixed number. Its the salary cap. Same at alabama as it is at Oregon. What amount a player is promised is up to the school. More wiggle room is there with NIL.

Tank Davis is good but not worth our whole budget for dlinemen.

If I'm honest with myself, I'd probably advise my son to do the same. A bird in the hand is better than a bird in the bush. The only stipulation I would have is that his mom and I would handle the money, not him. Giving my 18 year old son a million dollars would be like giving a monkey a straight razor in a crowd of people. But I agree, it would be hard pressed to have him turn down that kind of money.

Funny and Amen Brother!

Maybe we can trade one of our highly rated QBs for a 5* DL or OT and a player to be named later. (QB is a premium position)
Have to wonder if we’ll ever see anything like this in “college” football. It seems that NOTHING is beyond the realm of possibility now.
