Didn't shine as a freshman on a bad team, but unless his 5 star rating is a total bust, he'll probably develop into a talented player for someone in the next couple of years.

We currently have 7 on the roster and will lose Cuevas and most likely Dalton to the portal (Samarrco is possible also). Lewis has been injured most of his career. Bringing in transfer Ford and freshman Sutter gets us back up to 7 (possibly 6). Bama plays three TE's at times in DeBoer's offense so makes sense to me.

Cuevas is a senior, he is most likely entering the draft. He will be missed.

Honest question. Is he a fit?

I do recognize we need help on the O-line and I'm guilty of expressing my frustrations at times but is he truly a fit for what CKD wants in his offense. Seems we've been working with a hodge-podge for some time now. I've seen many posts/comments about CKD's system needing leaner & quicker athletes than our previous prototypical O-line roster. So, if he's a fit, yeah go after him. If not,,,,,

I've decided I will mostly just wait to read the position preview articles at the end of summer next year. The ones this year were excellent.

The portal has significantly diminished signing days. Deep NIL pockets are mostly what keep players anymore. Playing for legends programs like BAMA will hold some but that commitment on signing day ain’t worth the paper it’s written on.

I do at times miss your garden variety signing day before all the portal nonsense.

It use to be a big event for every team and was something to look forward to between the Final game of the season and Spring practice.
