Link: 2026 Transfer Portal

They've got one booster who dropped $28 million to get a top defensive and offensive line.
Yep, that is where this thing was always headed. I am only surprised that SMU has been barely a blip on the radar so far. They can clearly buy one of the most talented rosters and become the bloodiest of new bloods.

Would Indiana be interested in Coleman?

If the price was right… who wouldn’t be interested in Coleman?

But here lies the issue…

1) Coleman isn’t going to a place without an established quarterback or atleast a great transfer coming in.

2) Coleman isn’t going to a run oriented team

And

3) Coleman is going to go where he can get the best price.

Going after wide receivers is tricky. Because they tend to be busts more than any other position and tend to not factor near as much as they are worth. I mean in the offseason… who wouldn’t pay top dollar for Ryan Williams. How a year and a new quarterback changed the perception. I would much rather take a chance on a great running back or Defensive tackle than pay top dollar for a receiver.

LOL!!! on the Coleman transfer. firstly, I called it when both he and Perry Thompson committed to the barn that both will be in the portal before their career was over on the plains. secondly, the meltdown by the barners is pure entertainment esp. when Tom Loy tweeted yesterday that Coleman was staying put!!

Hope Coleman leaves the sec if he’s not coming to Tuscaloosa. Hes legit. But hey a worse awwbarn is always fun. If AG is already ruffling feathers the boosters really are gonna be the death of that place. Perfect timing too hahaha let’s tick the boosters off right before it’s time to cut a check to refill the roster hahaha oh you just love to see it
Coleman is a good WR, but he's not a game changer by any means. too inconsistent and disappears at times during games. but if you're a desperate program that needs new blood in the skill position, knock yourself out.

Right now ON3 has Coleman with a $1.8 Mil NIL estimate.

I would not be shocked for him to get $2+ Mil from somebody but yeah not us.

There are a bunch of WRs in the portal right now and many of them with much lower price tags from 300-500K

I agree you have to choose wisely because some of those had solid years, some are Fr who were highly rated but didn’t get playing time in year 1 and are bolting, and some are older players with no real playing time.

My guess is we are looking for an Outside guy if RW leaves or even if he stays but doesn’t improve.

It’s possible we only return Horton and Brooks next year as guys with real experience so I’m hoping we bring in 1 or 2 more experienced WRs this offseason if we can without breaking the NIL bank.

To your point though a more reliable place to invest large funds is RB and either OL and/or DL

Just a few things on this:

- Coleman was having disagreements with his family over staying or going. He wanted to stay they wanted him to go. They compromised and came up with a number to stay and went to Golesh which he said no.

- I tend to think he knows where he is going and that most likely is aTm. He will get 2 million from someone desperate and wealthy enough to pay it.

- I think Alabama may snag another receiver or two possibly the other guy from Auburn. But I think we are happy with where we are at at the position.

-As far as RW… I tend to think he stays. I don’t think anyone is going to throw stupid money to get him, and he absolutely loves it in T town. I think Nix might be better for him.

- I think throwing stupid money at a guy that is dependent on another guy throwing you the ball is stupid unless you have more money than god. Even then I think you would be better off building line and running back depth.

I think 8-4 was one of his final schools before originally choosing the Barn.
Not just top 4. He was committed to A&M for over 4 months, until Auburn swooped in at the last minute with more $$$$. This is why that strategy isn't the smartest. Anyone who will decommit like that because you offered more money, will also do the same to you.

I'm with you on all of this. It makes sense.

Is it all about money? If so, TAMU. If he really wants to win... I see him going with Alabama. You can see lot of bama players trying hard to get him to come to Alabama. But either way, I think we're in good spot like you said. I wouldn't be shocked if we get Simmons.

Arkansas and Kentucky are the teams I read Simmons is looking at at the moment.
I think Simmons is the more polished and consistent WR than Coleman.

I’m just not sold that he’s seriously considering us just yet. Not just because of what non drunk on the farm Auburn insiders say but because of really what would be the point with us. Take less money, a brand new quarterback, but get to stay close to home. Maybe he wants to stay in the state and take a discount and if he does then welcome aboard.

But I just see aTm and Ohio State forcing a bidding war with everyone and it really comes down to who gives him the best shot to win it all.

The obvious connection to Coleman is Nix. If not for him he wouldn’t even be on our radar because, and I could be wrong, but I don’t think Coleman really ever considered us during his recruitment.
