3rd Saturday in Oct.

I' m with you mltide64, I can remember going to Neyland Stadium where the UT fans were trying to sell BAMA fans bottles of Pepto Bismol and walking away from the stadium with a victory. All of it was good natured fun between fans. It has now turned ugly for me since the documents have come out. I wish nothing but ill will for the UT program and a come-uppance for the fans that blindly support Fulmer and the UT administration. I never condoned the illegal recruiting we were involved in and I'm glad the shady characters have been outed and dealt with. We did our time for our crimes and now a rehabilitated Tide Program is on the rise. I only hope that the whole of college football can realize what was done to us by two out of control governing bodies and a bitter, jealous, deceitful, scoundrel that passes himself off as the leader and builder of young men.

And by the way, mltide64, welcome aboard.

I honestly believe that good football will preside over courtrooms, documents, and two-way accusations. At least I hope so! Just don't want you guys to get hot and put another one of those 11 game win streaks on us again. Now that was a dry spell! I always remember that streak when some of my cocky brethen tell me those days are over. "It'll turn on you".

I liked it better at Neyland Stadium when we were winning and the seats were wider. ;)

Thanks ...

Dixie for the warm welcome, Glad to be aboard with the best fans in the whole world... Tide Fans :)

After reading some of the Cottrell files, it looks like I have been hating the wrong guy from Tennessee. It looks like Benedict Kramer the head of the SEC was the one guy that could plot and hang Bama. You do have to hate CPF for his record and efforts to throw rocks at Bama, but without the help of the SEC there is no way CPF can succeed.

Just remember something my mother always quoted "People in glass houses should not throw stones."

OK, then Roy Kramer is Darth Vader.........

You can argue until hell freezes over, but one fact remains. What hurts Alabama hurts Tennessee. And, vice versa, what hurts Tennessee hurts Alabama. Our rivalry has tied us together for as long as good college football exists. Anything, whether it be rogue lawyers, actions by coaches on either side, or actions by supporters that sheds a bad light on either school diminishes the rivalry. And that is especially true when viewed by people outside either state.
For heavens sake, get over this thing and play some football. Nothing, and I include the Iron Bowl, matches the third Saturday in October.

Thanks ncbama you took the words out of my mouth. IMO what hurts Ala. does hurt Tn. and vice versa. I was in Norman Ok. at the Bama-Ok. game a few years ago with my Bama cap on and white shirt (like you guys wanted the traveling fans to wear), yelling as hard for Bama as I do for my Vols when we play you guys. I have been to a lot of great rivalry games, but nothing compares to the 3rd sat. of Oct. I always thought it was the hardest fought game with class ever played. I hope it remains that way, because as I said in an earlier post this is my favorite thing the sports world has to offfer.

Good people

like Rbvols and Tennessee are refreshing. I for one can't wait to prove without a doubt that this is the best football conference (and all-around too). Hopefully, everyone throughout the conference has learned from this thing. I've had friends from up north come down to games and they can't belive what great atmosphere and fans are down here. My buddy from NY was floored when we shared our tailgate with a a bunch of LSU fans. Great experience for everyone. Football and good times are what I want the SEC to be known for.

You orange fans just remember -- the only time you have ever had a win streak against the Tide is when the Tide has been wounded and down in schollies with injuries heaped on top of that. As an elephant never forgets and a wounded elephant is a very dangerous animal. The Tide is still wounded from that back stabbing b***** (I hope Fullmer's mother marries his father soon) but CMS will bring us back to whooping ya'll on a regular basis as we did before the schoolie reductions.

Now, don't for a minute think the Tide was innocent because I don't. However, nor do I think the punishment fit the 'crime'. When the viles get their teflon protection from the nazis taken off, then the Bensel Myres, Tee Martin incidents will get appropriate punishment. I saw the kid from Tyner who just spent a year at Hargreave before going to the vols with a big, shiny white truck at the end of his junior year. This kid from a poor family and there is no way he could buy a $30,000 + truck. Explain that! I can't think of his name but he's a D lineman.

the off-the-field crap and still love the rivalry. My only wish is that we can all get back to those days when the rivalry was respectful but very, very competative. My guess is that for most that may not happen until Phil Fulmer either admits the errors of his ways or until he's fired.

By the way...I am not saying that he was wrong in his conclusions...just that he attempted to not only hurt the University, but players and their families as well. I think that you can turn in another University you feel is cheating and still do it while maintaining professionalism and Phil sorely missed the boat on that one.

It would be great however, if ALL of the legal crap would STOP and we could just get back to football! If UT does go down for anything it will just be another black eye for the SEC and we don't need it. The better the Vols are and the better the Tide is, is what the SEC is all about! We've always been (over the generations, not necessarily the decades) the two top SEC teams and when we're not playing each other for titles...it is bad for the SEC.

I love the rivalry too. I just cant respect them or their school until fulmer is gone. He is such an embarrasment to UT the state and our conference. HIs actions were deplorable. I think that his motives were clear. It wasnt about recruiting in Ten and all of that. For that to be true we have to believe he has smoe character. It is clear to me that he cannot beat Alabama consistanly when we are at full strength. Very soon, at least on the field, things will be back to normal.
