I noticed that as well...so much for the "vanilla" defense. They picked it up in the second half with stronger blitzes. They'll be good.

My greatest concern after watching that game - the drops. Have to get that fixed or Mahomes couldn't help you.
Good throwsI didn't watch the game (set to record so I can watch it today) but were the drops on balls that were well-thrown or were they off target? I've heard comments about the QBs throwing to an area on the field, so a "bad" throw may not be the QBs fault. It could be the receiver isn't running the correct route. If that's the case, it will take time and lots of reps for things to start really clicking in the passing game.
I agree, but still believe that Jalen is your starter.
Texas and Michigan provided the blueprint to other teams. All you have to do is blitz Milroe straight on, and he will just stand there and get sacked. It’s crazy because he has crazy athleticism, but it doesn‘t seem to translate to any real escapability. It seems like Ty is much better in that regard. When Wisconsin blitzes the crap out of him then we will know for how long, because you know it’s coming. Everyone who is complaining about our defense yesterday may have noticed the absence of a lot of blitzes. At the REC scrimmage there was a lot of them and they were bullying our offense. I think the point of the day was to make our starting two teams to feel good about themselves.
IDK if Milroe will or will not be the starter for Georgia but I think it’s a good bet that he probably is the guy for our trip to Camp Randall. But idk because Deboer’s offense is based around quick short and intermediate passes that backs defenses off the line. I just still don’t see it in Jalen. Maybe it’s there maybe it’s not it’s really hard to tell in scripted scrimmages.
It was Emmanuel Henderson and Jaren Hamilton with the drops. I thought Lewis had dropped one. But that may have just been incomplete. My greatest concern after watching that game - the drops. Have to get that fixed or Mahomes couldn't help you.

Germie Bernard is going to be a real work horse at WR.The problem is that we really don’t have a good gauge of what the WR rotation is. Arguably our best WR isn’t even here yet, then you factor in the Hale injury, and the constant changing of Odom’s role and it’s kind of an experimentation of groups. I think our true second string wide receivers are alot to be desired and everyone who is in the 1st team rotation is trying to solidify their spot because they that come fall they are going to have to hold off another stud. So it maybe jitters.

Kendrick Law will be consistently dependable.
Kobe Prentice is maybe our best route runner, and will be reliable.
Caleb Odem will be a special target in the rotation.
Cole Adams. I've been talking about this young man for weeks. He's going to be really special. He'll be in the rotation.
Emmanuel Henderson will see action. He dropped a nice pass from Milroe in A-Day that killed the drive.
Jaren Hamilton could see action. He dropped a pass from Milroe in A-Day.
Ryan Williams. He'll have some catching up to do. But will likely soon be in the rotation.
Sam Willoughby may see action.
Aeryn Hampton, along with Prentice, is a great route runner. He's a freshman and might be redshirted. We'll see.
And freshmen Rico Scott and Amari Jefferson both have talent.
Why is Odom flipping back and forth? Is he not catching on to the receiver parts? Do they want him blocking and releasing off the line to create mismatches?I would say RW is in the top based on things said last week.
Law, Prentice, and Benard are the clear guys that are going to be in the lineup
Odom keeps flipping back and forth between TE and WR so who really knows.
After that there is a huge drop off in terms of capabilities.
I don’t know that we would have won a title last year with Ty as the starter, but I think we would have been much better off in 2024 if Ty had a year of starting experience under his belt.I’ll level and say that in 2023 I’m not sure either was the difference between a national championship and not one. I think Ty was better but had his own flaws that prevented him from separating himself from Milroe. Personally I thought in 23 Lonergan was the safest choice out of all 4. However I think picking the wrong 2 running backs to start hampered us more than who was quarterback. So I don’t really think having Milroe starting prevented us from winning a national championship.
Flashforward to this year. I think based on what I’ve seen the past 2 Saturdays that Ty is clearly the best quarterback in the rotation. I think in no uncertain terms Milroe was told that there would be a true competition between them in the fall because of Simpson’s growth in the Spring and a lot of the body language he is demonstrating is because of it. Because last Saturday Coach Womack made Milroe look bad and he had no answers for Simpson. Idk if Simpson Will outright be able to win the job before Georgia or not, but I think we have a true Plan 1B this year.

it may last until the Fall, but not into season. I think lessons were learned last year with this group. Im sure CKD will look back at how unhealthy for team unity it was to drag the competition into the season. I fully expect JM to be the starter. And thats OK, if he wins.Frankly, I did not see any starters out there today. This competition is going to last well into the Fall and probably a game or two.
Bernard, Law, and Prentice definitely the starters. Cole Adams I think will see a good bit of play time. He's very talented. He's likely a starter in 2025.I would say RW is in the top based on things said last week.

Has anyone heard how Hale is recovering? He’s a talented kid. RTRI would say RW is in the top based on things said last week.
