I live in TN. I have yet to meet a UT fan that doesn't have blinders on. The usual thing I get is 'Just win!' It would seem that whatever method is acceptable.

The only regret I have concerning UcheaT's current problems is that they are not accompanied with crippling sanctions, but I can still hope, can't I?

When the Fulmer's Thornton's and Tennstuds of the world are long gone i might pull for UT if they played Notre Dame. The holier than thou attitude when they were in the thick of the mess is unforgivable. Nothing make me happier than watching them wallow in their own self inflicted wounds.

Welcome also, we love to talk football on here with anyone. We are all God's children and should love each other.

I have a lot of respect for the Vols, they even called my son once when they had an opening for the College president. He is 12 twelve and I wanted him to at least start High school.

This is true for ANY fanbase in the country.

That said, I am guilty of doing things to justify what Kiffin was doing. You won't find me defending his mouth. I kept saying I didn't care much for the mouth and as long as he kept us out of NCAA trouble I was happy. I knew deep down inside that before the staff was out of here that we would end up in some kind of NCAA trouble. Now hopefully that they are gone we will be able to avoid anything worthwhile.

Here is a brife exchange I had with a co-worker this week...it was along these lines:

Me: Kiffin was exciting to have around if for nothing else his recruiting.

Co-worked: He was cheating

Me: I know, it was just a matter of time.

Was he cheating? I don't know 100% for sure.
Was they shady with things they were doing? I would bet anything I own and say yes!

When CLK was here and was our butt hole I tried to find the good things about him. Now, he is just a butt hole :)

if your enemy needs a drink, give them water....if they need food, give them bread......I believe in not stooping down to the levels of criticism in which our program recieved.....may God bless you and your program.

Coach Danny Pearman is the Alabama coach Phillip Fullmer accused of having an affair with a recruits mother. Fullmer, when he was going to be sued for it, publicly apologized and admitted he lied about that to avoid a law suit. What else did he lie about? As far as I can recall he has evaded having to give any depositions for any of the law suits against him. Fullmer skipped Media Days to evade a subpoena and was consequently fined by the SEC. I have a lot of pent up anger against the Tennessee mob that jobbed us, beat up an attorney, possibly had one person disappear and turned our program into a laughing stock. Not only did they harm my University they destroyed one of the most storied rivalries in the deep south, the Third Saturday in October. I will not shed a tear for UT till what they wronged is made right.

Yes, I can understand that. But wouldn't that make him overqualified for the job?

Welcome to the board, TNDude! There are some excellent Vol posters over here; hope you'll join 'em. Just bring a thick skin.

I'd like to see the Bama-TN rivalry return to one of respect. I keep telling myself I'll do what I can (which isn't much...) to make it happen. Then I read posts such as bayoutider's on this thread, and TommyMac's on another thread, and am reminded anew of how the TN administration did everything they could to destroy Bama. Not on the field, but via the NCAA. Vol fans (most of 'em anyway...) rejoiced in Bama's troubles.

Easy to understand why many Bama fans have little sympathy for TN's plight. That being said, Kiffin & posse shafted TN about as bad as I've ever seen it done by a group of coaches.

Maybe after Fulmer has been gone a few years, feelings will mellow a bit.

FWIW, I think D. Dooley is a good hire for y'all.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you feel better. As they say, confession is good for the soul. In fact, I will confess that I always enjoy a good beat down of Tennessee, especially when administered in crimson.

Dude -

Welcome to the board. I have been around for about a year now. I have to say you will get honest opinions when it comes to Tennessee football here and not many will hold back their thought :) Most look at things level headed and enjoy the conversation and debate, that is what makes this place great. As someone mentioned you better have thick skin being here as a Vol fan.

Hope to see you stick around as this is one of the best boards I have ever been on and I am here almost as much as I am on UT boards.

Here are a couple of things from me to you that will make you experience MUCH more enjoyable:

-Bama fans do not like Phillip Fulmer. That is all that really needs to be said there.
-If the mods tell you to cool it...then cool it.
-Don't trash talk! We all love our football and our teams. Leave the trash talk to the drunk fans on Saturdays.
-Respect gets respect.
-Remember that we are on a rival's board and not many here even own a pair of orange tinted glasses or drink the orange Kool-Aid

Play by the house rules and this is a great board. Don't play by them and you will get wore out.

Just some advice from one Vol fan to another!

Go Big Orange!!!

And good advice from my friend VolFan1. See, there are a few UT fans I actually like. :)

I forgot to add Fullmer is a coward. ;)

Since I am one of the women on this board I will tell you something a high school principal told me once as I was sitting in his office because of something another student had done to my student. He said, "women may forgive a trespass but you can be certain they never forget." That is how I feel about TN, I may, in time, forgive what TN, Fulmer, etc. did to Alabama, but there will never come a day that I will forget. It's not my nature, so I have an excuse.

I really dislike the Vols for all the reasons listed above. I have no respect for the UT atheletic administration for the under-handed dealings of false accusations and secret witnesses. The term poetic justice comes to mind. I can only dream that the NZAA will ask me to be the secret witness that brings the hammer down on the Viles. Don't look for sympathy here.

I won't even drink Jack Daniels becuase it's distilled in Tenn...and I love Jack. Good thing I don't hate Kentucky!:BigA:

Welcome ... Dude (I feel some of my previous life in Southern California coming to the surface just saying that *shudders*)

I agree with the poster that said that he would not have thought of joining another fan base's board. At one point I felt the same way. VolFan1, Red and others here made me think it was not so bad, and that I could learn more there sometimes and hopefully dispell some misinformation.

I have been kicked off of Vol boards for saying hello in much the same way you did, you will not get that here. I rarely if ever go to a Vol board anymore, most of my friends know more about what I want to know about than I can find on VolQuest or VolNation.

As VolFan1 said there is not a lot of love lost for UT and especially Fulmer here. I am one of those who have MANY friends that are Vol fans. We should not forget what happened, but we can remember that there were only a few who really did the damage, and that fans are just that, fanatics. If we are honest with ourselves we all know we see things tinted in our favorite color. For example I know some Vol fans who will always believe we got what we deserved and were cheaters, I also know Bama fans who cannot say UT at all without saying UcheaT.

I hope we can work together to reestablish at least some of the mutual respect that has been lost over the last decade.

It will be up to the fans to heal the wounds those who struck the blows will never admit to their heinous crimes.
