Whenever I see an offense on 3rd or 4th and 1 lining up in the shotgun or pistol, it says the offensive mentality is "Oh, please don't hurt me!"

It just seems weak, soft, and scared.

Yup..I dont get that either, I don't care who you're playing, if your QB can't line up under C & bulldoze out a yard something somewhere in your football program ain't working right..

There is no violence from our guys in the trenches. There is no violent running from the backs. Every now and then, there is a little violence from a few members of the secondary. Somehow, someway, the "make his rear end quit!" mentality has to be restored. I watched the other games yesterday, offensive playcalling seemed to make much more sense than the disjointed stuff I see from ours. I like Deboer, when Saban retired, I immediately called his name as a replacement. I still think he can do the job, but part of doing the job is the right staff. I don't think we have it right now. Coach Saban needs to have a sit down with CKD, not to tell him what to do, but to give some mentor/fatherly/SECcoaching advice.

If I had my wish? Demeco Ryans. Alabama alum. Head coaching experience (only in the NFL, so no recruiting experience other than being the recruit). He would be a solid hire.

This would be my choice as well.

I would take Pete Golding in a heartbeat, instead of the absolute crap we seen yesterday, say what you want about the man..

Ole Miss looked as good they did when Kiffin was there & in all honesty they looked like a better coached team under Golding..

It remains to be seen how CPG builds and manages a staff. But I have been impressed with how he deals with the media, much better than CKD. He also appears to have a good feel for in game decisions. I dont see him making the decisions that Kiffin made or Smart made last night that get you beat. Now I still think his defense is too soft up the middle on runs and doesnt bring enough pressure especially on 3rd down.

I can't argue against that brother, buttttt, I'd take his defense over Coach Wommack's "Swarm Defense" too be honest..

At times our D looks more lost, than our offense(let that sink in), I just dont think the Bama Standard is being met at all on either sides of the ball or in any phases of the game..

That's definitely a coaching problem..

Somebody mentioned Shula. My son-in-law is the track and field coach at Tulsa University and he sent me a Dave Radar, Shula's offensive coordinator and from Tulsa, quote. "Indiana just beat Alabama by 35 points, I plan to stay up all night because the rapture will soon follow." Mal Moore who knew football told Shula to get some new assistants and he refused. It that point they were both terminated. Shula probably would not have lasted long term, but at least he had a shot if he had listened to Mal. Shula lost me a little bit when he put so much time and effort into recruiting Tebow when everybody knew he was going to Florida except him. Those two things makes you wonder about Shula's coaching decision making ability in general. DeBoer is lost right now and nobody like Mal Moore is around. He better make drastic changes immediately. DeBoer's fingerprints are all over the problems at Alabama, which makes me think he will not last long term. If he does not make drastic changes now next year should be his last. Tough decisions have to be made. I saw a film of Bryant's first team meeting in 1958 and he said, "if I were a senior I would quit because you are not going to play much because we are building for the future." That could have been Bryant's way of seeing how they would react. I know he missed his starting senior quarterback, Bobby Jackson, the next year. The point being you cannot ***** foot around like DeBoer does at times.

He will have a chance to turn it around. Can't say I am overly optimistic until I see the changes that need to come and that starts with the staff.

I approve this post. IIRC, Mal Moore told Shula that some changes had to be made in his staff. Shula refused and subsequently was fired. Does Byrne, who hired Deboer, have the intestinal fortitude to issue the same ultimatum to Deboer, or does the size of his buyout cause Byrne to hint or try to soft sell his suggestions concerning, not a complete, but a quite major overhaul of his staff? Time will tell.

absolutely we dont have fighters violent players anywhere .. Jam miller has it earlier in his career. Not this year.

some of the teams like Miami and Ole Miss and IU I absolutely enjoyed is how their players had energy and relished physical contact. IF you dont enjoy that I dont know why you are playing this game
