AJ is rooting for the barn

I'm not going to criticize AJ for rooting for the barn (something I definitely will not be doing).

Still, I just can't imagine a Bama football player wearing aubie colors.
.

This was the point of the original post and some replies (most replies) have gone everywhere but here. And for the record I never said AJ wasn't a "true" Bama fan but that he probably wasn't a "life-long" Bama fan (and, yes, there are a few of those...even, I'll wager handsomely, some on the team). A "life-long" bama fan's dream would be to go there, and if offered a scholly it would be a lock in all but the rarest of occasions.
And maybe things change in college, but when I played against kids I grew up with, I might pull for them against another team but would not have ever considered wearing their colors. Would have gotten pounded, for sure. Now, maybe this is what AJ has to do for Ms. KW, I don't know, but it just doesn't seem like it would go over well with some of his teammates. Maybe it's just my "fan"-colored glasses...

I imagine his teammates are more understanding than you give them credit for. Besides she is extremely hawt!

Mrs. Catfish is an *U grad, so I hope they win the game. Love makes you do crazy things. :biggrin2: Can't say I'll be actively rooting for them or wearing their colors, though. Plus, like a few others, I can't root for a team whose QB is very possibly a rapist, IMO. He could be innocent, but a jury should have been allowed to decide. I hope FSU loses by 50.

Catfish, love does make you do crazy things sometimes but it also demands that you try to show her the light.

Dee Dee McCarron
@DeeDeeBonner
@TreMason21 welcome baby. Ordered shirts for game! Will be wearing this for you! pic.twitter.com/vCPEcTr3Uf

I threw up a little when I saw this.

It's clothing. Big deal. I am proud of AJ for standing up for what he believes in and not being influenced by all the whacked out fanatics that call themselves Bama fans. I have been disgusted by the behavior of some of those in our fan base this year--more so than my Auburn fan friends. I'm not sure if I can pull for Auburn to win, but I can definitely pull for FSU to LOSE!! Orange and Blue are our school colors here, so if we end up in our high school gear on BCSNCG day, then so be it. It won't be Auburn garb, though. :biggrin2:

ETA: I have NO problem with the McCarron/Bonner's cheering for Tre Mason--their FRIEND--and have no problem with the shirt. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE!! This is NOT going to ruin my life!!

AJ is just a good young man. It seems more in character for him to root for someone/something instead of not rooting for someone/something.

AJ has a lot more class than I do, so if he wants to root for the barn...who am I to question that. AJ's a great kid, and unless he does something really horrendous..have at it AJ!
Now, what I want to see happen:
1) The alledged gets his bell rung or shoulder numbed on the first play, knocked out of this game (future events will determine my feelings otherwise)
2) Coker comes in at absolutely shreds the barns defense for 600 yards and 9 TD's and the barn loses 77-0.
3) After the game Coker immediately announces he will be attending the University of Alabama starting ASAP.

Yes, I am dreaming, but a guy can still dream, can't he?

Roll Tide, Roll,,,A'ight!

This has pretty much been my dream scenario since the barn got into the game.

I would like to see the barn win ugly and then find out they had 5 ineligible players a few days after the game. National title vacated, the barn on probation, FSU jammed ... perfect world.

Once upon a time, I actually pulled for Auburn when they weren't playing us. That will never happen again.

I'm not one of those Tide fans who thinks we are virgin pure and Auburn is Satan Incarnate, but what set me off is the extreme hypocrisy I find among what seems to be a rather large contingent of their fans. I'm not referring to the occasional nut - it seems to be an epidemic.

Large numbers of Auburn fans blamed us for Auburn paying Eric Ramsey. I must confess that is an incredible feat. Somehow.....we managed to get them to recruit the kid, get them to make offers of money that were recorded on tape that were illegal, and get them to give the kid the illegal loan from Colonial Bank, where Lowder was the head honcho.

Just think about that level of irrationale for a moment.

So they got put on probation and their response? To pay Gene Jelks to make up allegations, which was the first pebble in the avalanche we endured for fifteen years. In other words, their contrition was simply to pay someone to make stuff up.

They blamed us for Cam Newton - we had nothing to do with Cam at all.

And unless you're monumentally stupid, you know full well there is only ONE reason for TEN DIFFERENT players to say they were paid at Auburn - because it actually did happen.

Furthermore, they're the biggest batch of liars in college football. Their fans like to pretend that they don't care about "national championships" or refer to them as mythical. But the only reason they do that is because they don't have any to brag about. So they soothe their pain by writing articles saying national titles aren't real or that we exaggerate. Well - count it any way you want and we have MULTIPLES more than they do - period.

And they also think that because they've taken more beatings over the years, they are "real fans" as opposed to those "front-runners" who pull for Alabama. This is actually amazing. Go compare pictures of JHS last year in the final three games or so with the Alabama stands during 2003-2006. We still had sellouts or near sellouts.

Our stands were empty in the second half because we blew out the overmatched. Their stands were empty at the start of the game because they were simply a pathetic excuse for a football team supported by "fair weather fans."

AJ can do what he wants. It won't affect me one way or the other. I can think of nothing more fitting than Auburn being the team ridiculed for the SEC streak ending. Unfortunately, I suspect they're going to win.

The positive? It makes our three in four look absolutely monumental when the two we don't win are won by the arch rival in a small state.

If they win - our dynasty looks even better - especially if we can win another soon.
