AJ is rooting for the barn

Am I supposed to be mad about this? I don't think any of us got upset when his girlfriend was cheering for Alabama. Hating a team does no good, and he did everything on the field to beat them he was supposed to.
 
As intense as the rivalry is, the players on both sides typically display a lot of respect for one another. There's very little "chippiness" or mouthiness during games....and the games themselves are usually first class in every sense of the word. the way the players and coaches handle this rivalry speaks well of both programs.
Kudos to A.J. for a great career...He can wear whatever he wants....
 
I actually have respect for their players, when TTown got hit by that tornado, quite a few of their players came to help clean up the mess..I will always have respect for them doing that & hope they keep the NC instate just to tick the rest of college football off..
 
I have never and will never root for aubie. I love my fiance with all my heart but rooting for them is out of the question. Matter of fact she came home from work one day and all her aubie clothes were in the trash. God love her, the only thing she said was "well this just means you have to take me shopping for Bama clothes".

But, I must say I've never seen a player do that. I just asked my wife(MS State Alum) if she's ever seen a State player do that with Ole Miss. Her response-pull for them-maybe, wear their colors-NEVER. Oh well, doesn't matter to me, I'll be at the game on Jan 2 to see him play and will probably be depressed the whole way home knowing that that was his last game in a Crimson uniform!

MSU doesn't have a very large recruiting reach and so most of their players grew up a fan of MSU. Also, our goals are to win championships while their goal is to win the Egg Bowl. So obviously they put a bigger emphasis on their rivalry than our coaches do and so they have stronger feelings as players.
 
AJ will join the ranks of the old and jaded, disenchanted, arm chair quarterback planted fan like the rest of us one day. Until then, this buds on me!

They blamed us for Cam Newton - we had nothing to do with Cam at all.

And unless you're monumentally stupid, you know full well there is only ONE reason for TEN DIFFERENT players to say they were paid at Auburn - because it actually did happen.


Furthermore, they're the biggest batch of liars in college football. Their fans like to pretend that they don't care about "national championships" or refer to them as mythical. But the only reason they do that is because they don't have any to brag about. So they soothe their pain by writing articles saying national titles aren't real or that we exaggerate. Well - count it any way you want and we have MULTIPLES more than they do - period.

And they also think that because they've taken more beatings over the years, they are "real fans" as opposed to those "front-runners" who pull for Alabama. This is actually amazing. Go compare pictures of JHS last year in the final three games or so with the Alabama stands during 2003-2006. We still had sellouts or near sellouts.


Our stands were empty in the second half because we blew out the overmatched. Their stands were empty at the start of the game because they were simply a pathetic excuse for a football team supported by "fair weather fans."


AJ can do what he wants. It won't affect me one way or the other. I can think of nothing more fitting than Auburn being the team ridiculed for the SEC streak ending. Unfortunately, I suspect they're going to win.

The positive? It makes our three in four look absolutely monumental when the two we don't win are won by the arch rival in a small state.


If they win - our dynasty looks even better - especially if we can win another soon.

I agree with every word you have here.

AJ has EARNED the right to do what he wants & has NEVER been anything but pure class his whole time at Alabama.

I don't agree with AJ but I'm ok with him supporting API, just beat Okie!
 
Y'all might as well get use to our players not being the diehard fans that we are on here. We're recruiting at a level where we're pulling in lifelong Canes, Buckeyes, Noles, etc fans.
 
Call me fanatical, a bad, crazy, or immature fan. Call me mean-spirited or hateful... I guess not relishing the idea of seeing the captain of the Crimson Tide football team wearing the arch-rival's colors and cheering them on makes me some or all of that.

...but when I see AJ and Dee Dee cheering and wearing the aubie shirt posted earlier (or something like it), my stomach will turn just little bit. And you can bet we'll see it many, many, many times. The barn fans will have a field day with it and what not...

I imagine, though, that I will get over it, pretty quick, so don't go worrying over me.

I'm not an Auburn hater at all and normally I will pull for the SEC in scenarios like FSU-Auburn.
But I will pull for Auburn in this game for what I consider to be an objective viewpoint and reason----
FSU poses much more of a consistent long term threat to Bama than Auburn does.
Nearly every player signed by Bama or FSU in the last three years had both teams in their final three or four school choices.
We recruited a heck of a lot of the players they signed. They recruited a lot of those that chose to wear Crimson.
A championship for FSU will give them even more recruiting momentum, and, under Fisher, they'll have an opportunity to establish a program that is very close if not equal to ours.
Auburn on the other hand does not pose such a threat in my opinion.
Therefore....I hope Auburn wins.

And I know he won't be there (TM), but since he seems to be the reason at least Mom is rooting for the barn, I'm wondering...will he openly be rooting for Bama? I am just curious if the "love" goes both ways....
 
I'm not real fond of tattoos...I've never worn a bowtie, and I'll never put on any Auburn stuff.

Everybody has their own drummer, I have mine and AJ has his. AJ has made me proud to be a Bama fan, so he can wear what he wants without upsetting me.

I agree. Sadly. And this is a topic for another day but going more national in our recruiting seems to have affected the intensity (or lack thereof) of the game with our biggest rival. I just have an issue with that, but of course I'm just a fan not a coach.
 
His girlfriend has supported him and Bama throughout. He will, of course, do the same for her as her team plays for the title. He is a wonderful person of whom we are all proud. He is very mature and we never have to worry that he will embarrass us because of that.

I am not mature the way he is and I hope the Noles beat the snot out of the barn, but that's just me.:)
