Alabama Player Nicknames

My favorite: John "Hog" Hannah
(John Hannah was the first famous person I ever met.
I saw John Hannah and John Croyle at the skating rink in Gadsden when I was in high school. Seeing those two big men (well, Croyle was tall but skinny compared to Hannah) on roller skates was a sight to behold. They must have been in their mid-20s at the time.

Marlin “Scooter” Dyess. CPB, “get to the sidelines, Scooter” Lauren “Goobie” Sapp. Both played on Coach Bryant's, early Alabama teams.

Larry "Dink" Wall. Thought I would share this about "Dink".

Larry "Dink" Wall of Vestavia Hills entered his heavenly home on July 12th, 2020 at the age of 78. Dink grew up in Valley, Alabama and was a 1960 graduate of Valley High School. In 1964 he graduated from The University of Alabama. While there, he was a member of the 1961 and 1964 National Championship Football Teams where he played under Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.
