Quite possibly the most unimpressive defensive shutout in the history of shutouts. Gave up 6 sacks. Lost a major component of our offense, for what looks early on like an extended period of time. But hey...35-0 is 35-0. On to Arkansas

Pretty good first half, ugly second half. Plenty of issues CNS can focus on this week with the team...lots of improvement needed going forward. Hate the injury to Fowler, he has probably played too much already to get a medical hardship. Let's get ready for the piggies, RTR!

I'm discouraged.

Six sacks allowed against a Sun Belt team; no rushing attack; soft coverage on defense.
Makes a me rethink whether we can run the table this year.

OK, I saw our first drive and we looked really good.

Then I had to flip on GameCast because the hospital got busy today.

Can someone (calm) please give me the basic once over?

Here's what I think I have:

Fowler got hurt, probably for more than just this game
AJ got sacked six times (wt....)

Overview pls - thx in advance.

Wait...Let me add one more thing to this...

Not sure where you all were, but I know where I was when we used to play well...but not well enough to win. And listen to my head coach say, like a broken record, "We're almost there."

But now, playing crappy and winning by 35 isn't good enough? Meh...I'm cool with it. A win is a win.

Fowler probably tore an ACL, at the very least.

As a fan base, we've been processed.

Until proven otherwise I will chalk this one up to lack of intensity and focus and injuries.

You are never going to see a team play like we did against Michigan every game. Do we have weaknesses? Sure. But it remains to be seen if it is enough for someone to beat us.

My biggest fear is Fowler's health. I hope it wasn't as bad as it looked. That young man is a team player if there ever was one. Hopefully all the injured will be healthy soon.

We have had this same game every year, no need for alarm. Kind of wish we didn't play them.

The injury to Fowler is indeed depressing. Is he replaceable?

It's hard to feel too good about this. It's hard to gripe about a 35-0 shutout and I'm guessing Saban might put some people in their place in regards to that. But, clearly there are things to work on. Western Kentucky was able to move the ball. The defense was what I expected pretty much, given all the inexperience, but Michigan raised expectations.

The sacks really hurt. You don't expect that many against this type of a team, especially considering the offensive line is considered a strong point. That was unexpected. The other unexpected aspect was the running game. Austin Peay averaged more per rush than Alabama. It's kind of hard to see that as a good thing.

I think you can chalk that up to this game being between Michigan and Arkansas (two top ten teams), but the Fowler injury is what hurts. Eddie Lacy just isn't looking that sharp, and to lose Fowler hurts. There is a lot of depth at RB, but Fowler's role was important and we have to really hope it's not season ending.

Struggled to get the run game established. Offensive tackles were beaten quite a few times. Middle of the field was exploited in the passing game by WKU with backs and TE's. Fowler's injury doesn't look good.

The bigger issue with the Fowler injury is our three healthy running backs are Hart, Yeldon and Drake. Anyone else we can throw back there?

WKU is a good team. Have to give them credit - well-coached and disciplined.

This game was certainly a "learning opportunity" for both offense and defense. Even Cody Mandell dropped the ball but then ran 19 yds for a first down. It was not a pretty sight, particularly in the second half. Guess too many guys began to believe their own press despite Coach Saban's ministrations to the contrary.
