An observation on TerrEnce Cody

I would love to see Cody get the handoff on the goal line against the Barn!

That would be priceless!!

I really really hope that before this year is over I see Cody and Arenas score on offense :)

(or if not on offense, cody recovering a fumble and taking it the distance would also be priceless!)

There is nothing - NOTHING - that makes me more excited than seeing him run onto the field in goal-line situations.

And the play this week where Ingram just ran around the pack made me laugh out loud.

My only wish on TC is that we'd found him as a HS Senior as opposed to a Juco...

He didn't have the grades, unfortunately. But we were the only one willing to take a chance on him out of JUCO, until a couple other big programs got wind of our interest. Too late, Nick in on the ground floor, as usual...

I also like the fact that he was talking to Donte on the sideline during the 4th qtr. He was making Donte laugh. I am sure Donte needed cheering up.
I didn't see it but a co-worker told me he was cutting up with Dont'a on the bench acting like he was going to give him a big ole' kiss on the cheek. He had Dont'a laughing and I'm sure he was trying to lift the guy's spirits. Having a personality like that on a team goes a long way in keeping the morale up. That attitude is infectious and benefits the entire team.

Cody is a special talent and guy. You can tell he is the guy who keeps the team loose in the locker room and such too.

Dude, he blocked 3 people in 1 hit... hahaha I was dying laughing.

I don't think there's a single Bama fan who doesn't love seeing him in there at the goal line!

I've been hoping for a while he would get the ball... maybe sometime this year he will get the call as a sign of his dedication and what he brings to this team.

Pretty sure if he did it at home, BDS would be the loudest it's been in a long, long time.

My son Josh was on the golf team at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College when Cody played there. He called me one night his freshman year and said "Dad, I just ate dinner with the largest human I have ever seen in my life. He ate like the entire buffet"....lol..

That was before Bama had shown any real interest.

True story!

I'm so glad TC ended up at Bama.

One of my all time favorites!

Guys, I want to comment on something I noticed this Saturday that really made me appreciate this guy even more. We all know as a player at his position, he is greatly unmatched, and as a player in general, what he brings to the team is unmeasurable. But I noticed something this weekend that really kinda choked me up for a moment and made me realize that he is not only a great player, but an awesome human being.

Saturday was my first time getting to experience "The Walk of Champions", and let me say, WOW! INCREDIBLE FEEL!! I noticed that almost all of the players just looked straight ahead and listened to their iPods, kinda blocking everything out, which is exactly what they should do (keep their minds on what needs to be done and not get caught up in the excitement). However, I did notice one player who did not pass up a single kid with an outstretched arm hoping for a hand slap. That's right, you guessed it. Terrence Cody. When I saw that I thought, "Wow, what a guy. I bet he was that kid at once and knows what it means to them."

Kinda rambled on there, but I just can't say enough about how awesome and special I think he is to our program.

ROLL TIDE!!!!!

Thank you for sharing this. My 6 year old son (as well as I) is a very big Cody fan. I love to see him on the field and I get fired up every time he goes in for the goal line package. What you touched on really is what makes him so infectious. He could be an inspiration for all of us with his attitude. I hope he is very successful in life but more so I hope he never loses this side of himself.

I love seeing him run off the field with that big ole smile on his face. He is contagious. He makes me smile just watching him.

Cody communicates well with the younger kids because he ain't nothing but a kid himself, and having the time of his life wearing that crimson uniform. You can watch him when he's coming off the field, especially after a tackle he's made, or a QB hurry, or any other good play he was in on, and you can see the exuberance he is displaying and what a good time he's having. It'll be a loooooong time before another TC comes down the pike. And yes, I would love to see him score a TD.

Cody is great and his attitude is infectious. I have a lot of respect for a young man that will take that moment to make a young kids day. That's all it takes is a moment but so many are unwilling to take it. I'm glad TC is one of ours.

I said this in another thread today and I feel like saying it again. I absolutely love seeing these kids having fun! For so many years our guys suffered through so much and every game was a beat down and we faced so many agonizing loses it just killed me to see the look on those kids faces when they had left it all on the field and lost again. I am loving this year with Cody dancing around pumping his fist and grinning from ear to ear, GMc pumping his fist and flashing that giant grin after drawing Arkansas offsides. I am so glad they are able to compete and enjoy the game, becasue in the end that's what it is.

Yea, its great watching a 350(+) LB man "Skip To Mah Lou!" :biggrin2:

I have a question, if you buy a #62 jersey, does it only come in 5XL?

Actually, I'm glad you brought that up. Seems like forever, Nike has only made popular numbers (12, 22, 14, 4) that always seem to be offensive numbers. Well, Saturday, we went to the Bama Fever on McFarland and low and behold...a Nike number 62 jersey. Unfortunately, only in large.
