A reserve defensive end, Davonte Wilson, tore his ACL and will miss the season. He was a backup but this is another blow to their already thin defensive front.

I can't get the bleacher report link to stop crashing my computer or I would post it.

Depth is going to kill them the second half of the season.
Based on their starting group, I can see the preseason love. But, yeah, it's not going to take much to make their path VERY difficult.
With no injuries, I can certainly see them making a championship run. But, with even 2 or 3 relatively minor injuries, that run won't happen.

As we found out under Shula, a team under scholarship penalties can't afford an injury bug. Every player has to be a "can't miss" contributor and they have to stay healthy.

Kiffin was shrewd to sign 31 in 2011 and then redshirt half of that incoming class. But he can still only carry 75 on scholarship and it's going to hurt.

They already lost a starter on the D-Line. This guy here may not be a starter but it sure hurts their depth on the line, as previously mentioned.

This may hurt them before Nov. 3 against Oregon. We'll see how much it affects them in week 3 on the road against Stanford. I know Stanford isn't the same team from 2011, but they're still a good team.

USC's defense had already lost Nick Perry their star pass rusher from a year ago to the NFL. Then Devon Kennard tore his ACL late this summer. Now this. Bottom line is, their defense will be shaky at best. With any further injuries it will be like Swiss cheese. They'll have to outscore everyone in other words.

I would love for Alabama to play U$C in a bowl game this year. I would absolutely love for this to happen. It would be a healthy dose of open up and say ah when U$C's defense is on the field. Alabama's offensive line would manhandle U$C's defense and wear them down.

By the 14th game it's hard to imagine they will have enough energy and healthy bodies to play with either us or Lsu.

I think I remember saban in 09 saying the team was running on fumes at the end of the year.

Yes and Bama had much more team depth in 2009 than USC has currently.
