1. The constitution gives the president the authority to nominate justices.
2. Barak Obama is currently the president.
3. Therefore, President Obama gets to nominate Scalia's successor.

The Constitution also give the Senate the power to reject or confirm. We will see

Sure, and nominate, he shall...

Hopefully, that nomination will be rejected.

Rejecting the nominee before the nominee is even named...

.
Absolutely. Rejected out of hand, post haste, if not sooner.

Obama has done enough damage. The Country doesn't need one last boot to the groin from Obama as he stumbles out the door of the White House.

Because I'm such a problem solver this one is free.

1) Obama nominates himself to SCOTUS (this would out-Trump Trump)

2) The GOP agrees to vote him in after the DNC....where the super delegates nominate Biden for President. (This out-Clintons Clinton, too)

3) Biden runs against whoever.

Literally the only person in the USA who would be mad about it is Hillary.

Call it bringing America together. Hell, appoint a special prosecutor for Benghazi, too.

You're welcome.
