if youre still worried about collins youre obviously not reading this board, or have the capacity for rational thought.
I agree. I also think common sense or common logic has flown out the window. The mudslinging that happened after the commitment during the UA Allstar game and then the carry over into the local media outlets in Louisiana and on the innerwebs dang near sealed the deal for both sides. No matter if "they" wanted to change their minds. The overreaction from the who's has basically painted them into a corner and the response back from Collins to the Who's also more than likely ahs painted him into a corner now. So I believe come Wednesday he'll be signing with the Tide and the only ones who will be "shocked" are the who fans that basically sealed the deal for us. "Shocked" that they overreacted in such a way that it actually helped us.

Coach Saban visited with a close friend of mine in Jasper a couple of weeks ago and told him he was close to getting a player who he's wanted as much as any player he's ever recruited.

Didn't mention a name.

In retrospect, it may very well have been Tenpenny who committed for 2013 not long thereafter. But that conversation kinda inspired this thread. We'll see.

I wonder if the recruit he was referring to is in this year's class or 2013.

Possibly so. I just have this gut feeling that there's one biggie who hasn't announced yet that will sign with us, on the national stage, on TV, and I think it's planned.

Coach Saban has a plan for everything.

Regardless, I'm like the majority here. Keep the ones we have already and I'm happy as a lark.

I'll be tickled if it is any of the great uncommitted recruits that are considering Bama.......but I haven't given up hope for DGB.

I'm blown away with this class as is, but it seems like CNS gets a surprise in on us every year on or right before Signing Day:

2007 - Marquis Maze (Tennessee lean? when he signed with Bama)
2008 - Marcel Dareus (IIRC - grades were an issue, but he was a nice surprise)
2009 - Eddie Lacy and Kenny Bell (IIRC - Lacy was rumored, Bell was a complete surprise)
2010 - Arie Kouandjio (the day before Signing Day)
2011 - Jeoffery Pagan (I didn't even realize Bama was in it for him)

I hope we have an uneventful Signing Day...except for one little (good) twist!

Pagan was definitely a surprise to me. It came out of nowhere. I think he was a Clemson commit/heavy lean and then on NSD his LOI came in. I thought I was following recruiting pretty closely but I never saw it coming.

UGA thought they had Pagan. Lacy said he was headed to Tennessee but changed his mind on the way to the podium. Would be nice to land someone completely out of the blue, and it just feel there's one more pack of fireworks for us to set off.

:BigA:I feel like Christmas Day is tomorrow, but I found all my presents weeks ago. Happily we are viewing this recruiting class as awesome but we just want a little more. "It is good to be the King".

The only players who may have a hat on the table for UA that could join UA would be Goldman, Kirven, Alexander, and Tomlinson. I really do not know of anyone else that has us in their final group except for maybe DGB and I have not felt good about him since he never visited on an OV.

Other players names I think I have seen are maybe A Young, Winston(after NSD), and Lambert(after NSD).

The real surprise for me tom. will be if both Hill and Gladney sign. That would mean they both qualified, which will be 2 nice additions to this class. They are the only ones I am concerned with not signing, but again grades not other schools.

The guess I will go with is

Gladney will go elsewhere due to grades.
Thomlinson will pull the trigger for us.
Kwon will pick LSU over an Alabama GS.
Kirven will be the final spot (ok that is more a hope than a prediction)

Not a NSD surprise as far as scholarship offers go, but Caleb Sims will come to Bama as an invited walk-on. We've had good success with Hoover walk-ons, so let's hope Caleb follows in those footsteps.
