Anyone else a little let down with NSD?

I know this is a great class. We filled needs with fine young players and secured a top five class. Most teams would trade classes in a heartbeat.

That being said, I can't help, but feel a little disappointed. We didn't get that "sexy" blue chip player that I can't wait to see next year like Julio Jones or Trent Richardson. Philip Sims should be a great player, but is probably a couple years away. Saban has spoiled me with #1 classes the two previous years no doubt.
 
You are indeed spoiled. ;)

This is an outstanding class. Furthermore, I expect this year to become the norm more so than the past two classes. I think we're progressing to the point where players either commit to us or their spot is taken by someone else. Fewer surprises on NSD. That's a GOOD thing.

I guess I like the drama. Especially, when it works out and they put on that Bama hat. Although, I won't miss situations like KA.
 
The lineup doesn't have those gaping holes where a Julio/Trent are needed, and the spots that needed shoring up, got those blue chippers(Milliner, Fulton).
 
I'm not down in the least bit. I know they are all fired up down at that other school but ask yourself a question. When was the last time a team with a QB in his first year on a SEC campus won a championship? Our focus as a program is on a completely different level that other teams.

I know exactly how you feel... :biggrin:

If Arie would have held off till today that would've made it better though.. lol I just like getting a commit on NSD!

And they should be...they are in the same place that Alabama was 2 years ago...lots of holes and playing time available.

The question is, can they replicate what Alabama did the past 2 years? Because, if they can't, then their blue chip QB is gone. Will recruits continue heading there if they cannot improve upon last years record?

They've gotten better...but many, many questions still must be answered.

Thank you! I get the same feeling as winning when we get a superstar recruit who puts on that Bama hat. Remember Andre Smith and the houndstooth hat? It was awesome.
 
I'm excited! We got some tremendous athletes in this class, and most importantly filled our needs. This class has more overall speed than I've seen in a long time. :)
 
2007- #10 ranked class
2008- #1 ranked class
2009- #1 ranked class
2010- #5 ranked class

Lets not slip back into the old mindset of never being happy and being unrealistic. We signed a great class. We've got some dominant players in this class.

Auburn had a very good class but what Auburn does no effect on what we do or don't do.
 
You gotta be kidding. If not for the last 2 years this class would be our highest rated in recent history. We knew going in that for no other reason than politics we would/could not have a third straight #1 class. :BigA:
