Anyone else worried that we are last in the SEC in sacks?

What does our front 7 need to do? Are we missing Motley that bad?

We got almost ZERO pressure on Stafford last weekend. I think we came close to a sack once. Our defense has to start getting some pressure on the QB instead of letting them stand back there all day until a receiver gets open.

Saban is recruiting some super awesome D players this year.
Arthur Brown has Alabama on the top of his list.
Kerry Murphy is redshirted
Rolando McClain is a beast.
Lorenzo Washington is maturing.
It will come in due time my friend.

Nope not worried at all - I am sure CNS has it under control

Our D Linemen are not skilled pass rushers. It is that simple.

Well, they are not really skilled run stoppers either. ;)

But imagine the effort this group gives with a little more talent. Just takes a while...

Just hope we get a little better by the end of the season. Getting Brandon Cox a little rattled wouldn't hurt our chances at the end of the season  It was fun to watch him run scared against K. State.

I am a bama fan but I really like Brandon Cox because he went to my School.
I have kinda mixed feeling about him running scared.:conf2:

Am I worried about it? Yes, but the fact is that Shula didn't leave us with alot of pass rushers or much experience on defense at all. Not bashing Shula so don't flame me too bad. haha We were in too many tight games last year to put anyone else on second or third string in the games to get valuable learning experience. Also, it's no secret in the fact that our team was not put through the most strenuous S&C program and so on. CNS has brought us light years from that but we still have a way to go in those areas. We just aren't strong enough to get the constant pressure that we need to. That having been said, I think that we have the nucleus in place to bring us through this.

I think about it, but do not worry. Small steps and then giant leaps. When it happens Alabama will be hitting on all cylinders. Right now the execution has got to get better up front. The LB's, DB's, are still learning. It was clear in the Georgia game certain players like Mustin have to be in the game to keep the alignments squared away. He (Mustin) is intelligent and very vocal. He was sorely missed last week. It is BAMA's first season in this defense. It will happen as if over night, the sacks that is. This site will not be able to handle all the Sack post. Having played and knowing the learning curve is different for everyone, it happens all at once. Once all the players have their assignments down to a science then its on like Donkey Kong.

Concerned? No. It isn't as though we have a slew of great pass rushers underachieving. Saban is doing the best with what he has.

If we are having the same problems this time next year, I'll start to show more concern...

Worried? Yes. Surprised? No

I've been worried about it since the end of last season. We knew coming in that our front 7 was going to struggle.

Our D-line has already played above their heads. The bad news is that we probably wont become a rock solid d-line in just one season. We will still have growing pains next season also.

Actually, Kerry Murphy is with Hargrave Military Acadamy. Its a prep school.

As for the original question, if anyone was going to be worried it would have made sense to be worried in the spring and summer when the word started going around that the D, especially the front seven, could have problems this year. No use worrying now. It is what it is. Not what it will be, but it will take a few recruiting classes for it to be what it will be. :) Now, the best thing to do is get behind the ones we have and support them as if they were All Americans, leading the league in sacks.

Thats right.
Excuse me.

Worried?...............NO
Coach Saban is in charge, he's paid to worry and recuit what we need..

We should just sit back and chill. It will all happen in good time. He is our coach and will take care of all our worries

It's early in the season. Quit worrying.
