This may not be a proper post title or whatever (please edit or whatever) - but didn't know how else to begin it... but I'd like to apologize to all of you who read any venting-posts I made yesterday. It was spontaneous & done in a fire of disappointment when I found out that Will Lowry hadn't won the most votes from fans for his possible award. But, in my defense, that was not the only thing: it was the straw that broke the camel's back for me at that moment ...and yes, - I am disappointed that we didn't have another perfect season, that we are not to be national champions again this year, & all of that. But what got to me during the season was how we all (myself included) neglected to vote for our coach & guys in all the piddly (or better ones too) opportunities that put us (& them) in the limelight - I just can't STAND it that Auburn did, & that they're not only getting all this glory for their achievements this year, but that their fans put their coach & their players on top of every list, thru simple voting. Just FRIED me - so if you took offense to my rantings about us not being loyal enough, etc etc - just ignore me & move on...I'm disappointed that as a fanbase we don't show more public appreciation (even when we're not N/C's) but this too shall pass, & I know it. So - don't mistake my female & very blonde anger rantings for not lovin' my team & school...and I guess it all came at a time when so many of our family & friends who have been coaches at Alabama or who are now there, are going thru the brutal coaching carousel - that no one - NO ONE - truly understands until you've lived in the shoes of these families. And I have.

So ROLL TIDE anyway & hopefully - maybe next year, we can vote in by the thousands & keep Alabama on top of every list known to man that can be announced on ESPN & beyond to show the world what kind of GOOD FANS we really are!! :)

This thread is useless without pics.

Kidding, but I know what you mean. I think what gets us as Bama fans is that this is the first year that Auburn has been a good team despite us. They're greatest successes have always seemed to come when we were at out worst. We were either low on talent, or on probation. But they've just followed one of the greatest seasons in Alabama history with a perfect season & a Heisman winner of their own. I know, I know. They more than likely cheated to do so. But still, the fact remains. They were successful this year despite how good we are, and that's something they've rarely (if ever) done.

It'll get better, they can't sustain this level of success. All will be right with the world soon enough.

i don't think ya'll have anything to apologize for. remember these words... act like you've been there before.

as Alabama fans, we have been there before. the barners on the other hand have not. and you can tell that by how they act. i live in Georgia and i have never seen as many Auburn shirts, flags, hats etc. in the 15 years i have lived here than i have this year. I also work in Tallahassee Florida and the same goes for that area also.

Look at it like this, we all had that one kid in our grammer school class that no matter what just couldn't get the teachers attention, no matter what. every time there was a contest in the class he always came up just a little short, was the last one picked in kick ball, was the second one to be eliminated in the school spelling bee ( i was usually the third or forth, so go easy on me if i misspell a word).
now we all know what happened if by some miracle this kid actually lucked up and won something, he crowed about it all year long and actually got very irritating over time. untill the class bully actualy got tired of hearing about it and usually punched the kid in the nose. and to add insult to injury for the little kid, how funny was it later on when you found out that the kids parents had met with the teacher and talked about their sons "low self esteem" so the teacher kind of stacked the deck in his favor to actually win something.

so, you see. it's not that bad when you get "irritated" over it and the similarities of that irritating kid in grammer school and auburn fans of this year are not far off. they both usually come up short, can't win anything unless parents ask for something and usually get straight up punked in the end...

No offense taken, I think we all are a little disappointed.

Absolutely. I could take not living up to expectations as long as Auburn does not get there by cheating, but I guess I can't get that right now. On the bright side, at least the proverbial cat is out of the bag and the underhanded dealings with which Auburn has been utilizing will come to an end very soon.

Just remember, this forum is not here for emotional outbursts. No one but your spouse, bartender, hairdresser, priest, or psychotherapist needs to be subjected to that, and even they roll their eyes internally while you're doing it.

I love Alabama as much as anything, but we are talking about football people. If you are losing friends over this or having arguments or whatever, you really need a reality check.

I am sitting here brokenhearted this morning because 2 teenagers were killed in a car wreck on the way to school in my hometown.

There ARE more important things than football.

Staci, I just gotta ask - are any of your patients Barners?? I know that you're "blessed" with a Barner hubby. I really feel for you!

Wow, that's pretty harsh. I think she made a pretty good point yesterday. I would hardly call that an "emotional outburst." Furthermore, with the way people talk to other people on forums, it's kind of refreshing to hear someone being sincere.
You haven't been here long enough to know my sense of humor. Those of us who moderate this board have to work very hard to hold on to ours - repeatedly - every day. Sometimes we fail. And I wasn't necessarily talking to the OP in particular, but reminding ALL of us that keeping our feelings in check will serve us better, far longer, on this board than venting on the board.

Those fan polls where the fans combined votes count for like one vote? Thanks for asking, but no thanks. My responsibilities as a fan don't extend to participating in polls or surveys.

In fact the full scope and range of my responsibilities as a member of any given fanbase are very loosely defined. It would be hard to hold me to a standard of devotion or participation since there is no standard.

I've got a cap, and a license plate holder. Will that do?

Honey, I've got patients from all walks of life coming in here. Had to throw one out this morning though. Refused to sign my Substance Abuse/Controlled Substances Policy. As a matter of fact, he WAS wearing a football jersey (not Alabama!). Oh well....I'm sure he'll find some other doc to essentially be his dealer...sure as heck won't be me! :)

If the coaching staff gets their feelings hurt because of a lack of fan support, especially during the brutal coaching carousel, they have my sympathy.

It must be tough not knowing if you are going to keep your job, or maybe get your pay doubled to keep working the same job.

The coaches expect fan loyalty.

The fans know better than to expect loyalty from coaches.

People usually think of football and football forums being mostly something the guys are interested in, I'd just like to say how great it is to see our female Tidefans asserting themselves.
