Program AssistantWho is T Alles from O.S.?
... probably was when that photo was taken :smile:He looks about 18. haha
I always considered DuBose's refusal to offer Applewhite a scholly as the cherry on top of the train wreck that was the DuBose regime.Mr Applewhite then introduced me to his son, who was a freshman QB at Texas. They explained how disappointed (read really mad) they were that Major wasn't offered a scholarship by Mike Dubose. Major Applewhite seemed the epitome of a respectful, intelligent and bright young man...and you could tell he really loved Bama.
Here's the thing with Applewhite: When I met him, he was a freshman at Texas with a full-boat athletic scholarship to play QB at one of the biggest, most well-funded and storied football programs in the country...and he looked like his dog just died.He looks about 18. haha

Says he is interested but has not been offered a job yet.
Who would the other one be?Rumor is co-offensive coordinator.
From the article that was linked in this thread...Who would the other one be?
There are reports that Applewhite would share offensive coordinator duties with former Texans offensive line coach Steve Marshall.
Yes, good ole Mike DuBose. Turned now Applewhite. Turned down Phillip Rivers. I wonder just what in the world ever happened to Phillip Rivers? Since he wasn't good enough to play QB for Dubose. /sarcasmI always considered DuBose's refusal to offer Applewhite a scholly as the cherry on top of the train wreck that was the DuBose regime.
Then, adding insult to injury (from the Applewhite's perspective) was the shabby way Mack Brown treated him at Texas.
This guy could be an investment for the very long term future.

This kid obviously spent his entire life (to that time) dreaming of playing for the Crimson Tide. His mom & dad were Bama grads and he was named after a beloved Tide player.
Fast forward 9 years and now he is one of the brightest, capable, energetic and aggressive OCs in the college game. If you looked up "can't miss' future coaching success" in the dictionary, it would have a photo of this guy's baby face.
Bama passed on Applewhite once and all he did was re-write the record books at Texas while sharing much of his playing time with Chris Simms. I wouldn't sell this young man short and certainly hope Saban and Bama don't let him get away again. RTR.
