Back in the day, I preferred Archibald's over Dreamland. I ate mostly, though, at Horn's on 15th street, they had the neon pig dancing over the flames. :biggrin2:
Glad you have seen the light. Didn't you love the spaciousness? I don't think I have ever been there without having to wait outside, either. Seriously.

That's a pretty cool tidbit, FS. I like Sam & your Sooners, unless they're playing my Tide.Unrelated tidbit: Sam Bradford is in Birmingham today getting an OK to resume full practice from Dr. Anderson (?)
About six of us from the law school went down there for lunch yesterday and we packed the place all by ourselves.
And I'm not trying to say that the Dreamland on Jug Factory is bad. To the contrary, I really like it. This jaunt to Archibald's had its roots on Thursday night: I picked up a professor from Georgetown at the BHM airport who was coming down to present a paper on the presentation of law in Deadwood (no kidding). The University suggested that we stop at Bright Star in Bessemer on the way, but she actually wanted BBQ. Didn't know where Archibald's was, so went by Dreamland instead and it totally blew her away.

Several places > Dreamland, in my opinion.
The thing is... BBQ is one of those things where people are more particular about it than a lot of other foods. If you were brought up on one certain style (For me, I was brought up on a vinegar rich/tad bit spicy sauce), you could eat the best BBQ in the world, but if it's not your style... you won't like it.
Now that you mention it...:rofl:Glad you have seen the light. Didn't you love the spaciousness? I don't think I have ever been there without having to wait outside, either. Seriously.
