Re: why does Tim Brando have an agenda against Bama!

Does anyone want to take an over/under on how many times Danielson will reference last year's Iron Bowl and Cam Newton in tomorrow's broadcast? In the UGA/Barn game I kept track. Seven Scam references in the first quarter alone.

Anyone know if there is a way to sync Eli Gold's announcing with the CBS broadcast?
 
For sure Danielson did say that LSU fans feel that there is only one team in America that can beat LSU. And that is Alabama. So it seems in their heart-of-hearts, every knows who the #2 team is. However I don't understand why they don't feel that an SEC rematch won't draw viewers. Most viewers will be from the Southeast with the thought of weather LSU is really that good or were they lucky. Funny they don't work that angle. Furthermore a third of Texas and Missouri fans will watch just to scope out the competition. Only the Midwest and West Coast will be lost. But they were out of the conversation anyway. Had Okie State made the game, the nation would have tuned out at half-time as the outcome would have been obvious at that point. Might as well embrace the rematch, IMO.
 
I heard Tim at the half and had I been his producer , I would've chewed him a new one after expressing such stupidity and brought it back to the studio allowing for him to save a little face before the 2nd half . Sympathy votes for Okie St. ? What the h... eck does a plane crash have to do with getting your tail kicked ? And I like Tim a lot :( Not as much as he does , but I do .

That is the last time you will see "Missouri," "Texas A&M," and "Competition" in the same sentence for a few decades. :biggrin:

Also, the entire nation will tune in to see the National Championship, regardless of who plays. They already watched the regular season matchup and, since they watched two relative unknowns play for the title last year, they'll gladly watch two powerhouses this year.
 
I am not astounded at all. Danielson said on the Finebaum show he did not want a rematch. It has nothing to do with Alabama. He just does not like the current system. Brando is a different matter altogether. He is just an idiot and likes to stir it up much like Finebaum. The odd thing is Slive is a proponent of a one plus system. Now there is no way Oklahoma State would either Alabama or LSU but that is where we are headed. And I am fine by that. This has a lot to do with SEC fatigue as well.

People so easily forget there was a time when there was no guaranty of having 1 play 2. Before that blows up, we need to have something better to replace it. If they start adding games, then start paying the players and let's just call a spade a spade. The BCS is not perfect but it is much better than what we used to have.
 
Tim is an LSU homer and is trying to set up the easiest possible matchup for LSU in the Championship game. Do you think he'd rather his beloved tiggers face okie state or BAMA?

I do wonder of weather the talking heads' opinions are their own or that their opinions are "assigned?"

Some are somewhat assigned , so to speak . Been there and done that . Heck I still do it from time to time on this forum . I guess some habits die hard :D

that game is aired by espn, not cbs so that wouldnt matter.

What does matter is Tim Brando is from the bug eating illiterate capital of the world and an LSU homer. CBS's whole crew needs to go, not for this really, just because of how bad they are at their jobs.
 
If Danielson favors a playoff then he's going to have rematches nearly every year. I hate the BCS but if the goal is the 2 best teams then it has to bs us if we win tomorrow.

Also - using Gary's logic the New England Patriots and NY Giants were co-champs in 2007. Of course there's one reason CBS wants a split - since half of next years games will have one of us, they want to tout "defending national champions" every week.

Then perhaps more of America would rather see a good, competitive football game in a championship setting than not. If America can enjoy it in baseball (A's vs. Giants) they can get handle this one. After all, it's for the love of sport.

YH , sometimes I just cannot help myself . I was raised in studios and press boxes as well as being fortunate enough to have worked with some great people who were probably ahead of their time in many ways . If there's a Bama fan out there who ever claims Jim Fyffe did not ever get under their skin , I'll show you a liar . That said , it's sort funny how much barn fans loved their Kentucky fan announcer :D Jim was the very best at frustrating not just rival fans , but his own listeners as well .

I'll add that during the days of my late father , most people were convinced he was a huge FSU fan even though he was as Crimson as anyone could ever be .
 
Well, unfortunately I'm gonna have to stomach the two worst announcers ever, especially if you are an Alabama fan. They just don't want to give us our due. Yes Cam will be referenced and also Nick Fairly. I'm sure Tim Tebow will be too. So it will hurt to him both of them, especially is Verne says Barner and ...... again. But it will it will be a lot worse if they say Alabama loses to Barnie again.
