Attending first bama game.

Not for sure if I'm posting in the right location. Of course I'm a diehard fan been wanting to go to a game for a very long time and I'm finally able to go this weekend. I was wanting to know what are some things I need to take and what are some things to do at bds before and after the game. Of course I'm going to check out the quad. Roll Tide

You will never forget it. My first Bama game was in the 70's and I remember it well.
Roll Tide! Have a great time.

Big Al,

This is little Al.

Other than doing what others have said: visit Bryant Museum, just feel the electricity in the air. Hopefully, it will be there for CSU. Try not to get shocked! It is a great environment to be in on any game day. So, be like a sponge and let it all soak in.

P. S. My first game was in the 1950's!

First off, congrats on going to your first game. Hope you have a great time. Don't be too disappointed if the "juice" of the crowd is less than you expect This game won't be the biggest game of the year, and the crowd will likely be a bit subdued. Doesn't mean you have to be though! I recommend you:
1. Get in town early enough to eat breakfast at either Waysider or RamaJama's
2. Go to Bryant Museum; don't miss this
3. Soak in the history at the base of Denny Chimes where the past captains hand prints and foot prints are (I get goose bumps just thinking about it) - don't miss any
4. Catch the walk of champions 2 hrs before game time - if you want a front row, get there earlier
5. If no children are with you, drink a Yellow Hammer (or two!) at Gallettes
6. Get pumped up watching pre-game videos inside Bryant-Denny
Enjoy!

On a related note, I'm taking my boys and two nephews to their first bama game. The nephews are hog fans, but promise to behave. It hasn't been mentioned but I'm taking my crew to the one and only Taco Casa!
You may hold the record for the longest tenure with the fewest posts... :D

Taco Casa-good call!

I always tell people to get there as early as you possibly can. There is so much to take in. There have already been great suggestions on this thread, here's my take:

Bryant Museum is a "don't miss" on your first trip. Also schedule yourself to be at Walk of Champions early and get a good spot to watch the team walk in. The Supe Store in the student center has all the Bama gear you can imagine - worth a look even if you don't buy anything. For gameday eats, there are food vendors set up at the east end of the Quad that offer a good variety.

Enjoy your day! RTR!

We arrived Friday morning for the Tennessee game and hung out on the strip pretty much all day. We enjoyed the strip, we left around 930 pm. So I guess we missed the drunk students, but we had a great time.

I would also say the Walk of Champions is a must.

It will be packed, but Baumhauer's is not a bad choice. Someone mentioned RamaJama's. They also have really good burgers and the price is reasonable. If you get there around 11ish the line should not be too long and you can get a seat. I did for the ULM game. Hope you enjoy your first game. My first one was the home opener in 1993 against Vandy. VERY hot day. Seems the weather should be good for your first one. Have fun!

Enjoy. There is nothing like the first one. Mine was in the early 80's in Ray Perkins first season.
