Auburn Will Beat Florida in Two Weeks

I think it comes down to the QB situation for UF. If JB can go, unlikely, from what I saw, then I'd give the nod to UF. If it's the freshman, then I think AU wins...

What a lot of people are forgetting though is that they weren't really winning with the passing game. Most of their points came from Demps and Rainey, so I think as long as the freshman can hand off the ball correctly and maybe make a pass here and there, UF should do just fine against them.

It could happen; UF is probably going to struggle until they get Driskel acclimated. UF will have had two tough games back-to-back before the barn, so it definitely sets up nicely for the barn to steal one they probably shouldn't.

Maybe so but I disagree. Demps and Rainey still exist and the there are no talibarn capable of stopping them. Frankly I think Arky bruises them up in a romp and Florida mops up the pieces.

I agree. The Gators aren't going to sit back on their laurels while the barners carve them up. With Brantley out at UF, their replacement QB has no choice but to take the reigns. I think CCW does some intensive coaching with him this next two weeks. I'm thinking that for the rest of this season he passes only when he has to. For the most part, he'll hand off to Demps and Rainey who will both run through the *U's D like a hot knife through butter. If the home crowd has any influence, the barners won't be able to hear themselves think.
UF 27 - "U 17

Maybe over Florida with the injury to their QB, but no way does the Barn beat them hogs.:biggrin::biggrin:

I hope I am dead wrong on both games, but I have seen too many games where the aubs have no chance and they pull it off. Just witness last November in Tuscaloosa. I think the only games they lose from here out are LSU and Alabama.

Yeah, *U might get a little beat themselves at Arky before they take on UF. I'll say the barn loses them both.

i seriously doubt the barn will beat either arky or UF. yes, they beat USCe on the road, but it was more because of what USCe didn't do rather than what the barn did do. strictly speaking the barn has no business beating USCe, period.

arky will throw for 400-500 yards against them if not more. UF has way too much speed for the barn's defense and driskel will have a couple games under his belt as the starter. the barn loses both these games IMO

If you think Auburn will beat UF IMO you're crazy. UF is incredibly talented, they've recruited as well as anyone in the nation, and they had a bad year last year. They are too talented to have a bad year two years in a row. Their DL is damn good, IMO better than LSU's, we just wanted it more last night. I've watched LSU and they don't seem to generate much of a pass rush when they play good teams. They have a poor offense their offense relies on the defense getting turnovers. One of these days they'll play a team that doesn't turn the ball over, and they'll be in trouble. It was 14-0 against Kentucky at the half. Kentucky! It was 6-3 at the half against MSU. Really, I don't see why everyone is infatuating with these guys. Is it because they are so cocky and love posing for the camera?

Auburn hasn't done anything, they haven't played anyone except Clemson, which they lost, they almost lost to a pitiful Utah State and Mississippi State. Just because they beat USCe doesn't mean anything. USCe has no OL and no quarterback. Hard to win that way.

I think after this season is over we will look back and say UF was a really good team that just happened to run into a superb team in Bama. I wouldn't surprise me if UF beat LSU even without Brantley. And LSU will not kill Auburn. It will be close. LSU doesn't kill teams that have a pulse. It's just not their style.

If Demps and Rainey can have a little space to work with, they will blister the *U defense. We didn't allow that. But if they can do that vs *U, the Gators will prevail.

I honestly think that Florida will not require much QB play to beat Auburn. Their defense is better than most in the SEC this year. Yes, that is as sad as it sounds. Their speed on offense is enough to beat Auburn. They will not be able to keep up. They are poor at tackling and they are incapable of any kind of sophisticated defensive scheme. I noticed they are ranked 15th this week in the AP. First week ranked, second week not, third week ranked, fourth week not, fifth week ranked... Notice the trend here? Nobody knows exactly how bad they are yet. All they know is that they aren't really good...

One of the things that's missing in the "how good is Auburn" discussion is the fact they won because of two things. One... USC didn't play a solid game. Two... CGM has figured out Trotter's limitations and is making the shift to the running game. Say what you want about USC's offense, but they have a good d... and Auburn had a lot of success in the 2nd half running the ball. The big key is that USC couldn't get AU into having to pass... and therein lies the difference between Arkansas and Florida. UA will make them have to score... and they'll lose that shootout. UF won't be able to mount enough offense... and AU's running game will eventually be successful against them.

I respectably disagree with almost everything you said.

I agree with you Earle. My thoughts exactly. I do however think Arky beats *U. Gave the nod to UF until the QB went out now I'm leaning towards *U.

I wasn't the least bit surprised. I've watched USCe this year. I've been thoroughly unimpressed.

Again, I agree with this post. Not a bit surprised and most definitly unimpressed. USCe WAAAAAY over rated and ranked. How pray tell did they get to be #10?

Gray,

I hear ya, but Cam Newton and Fairley had alot to do with that comeback. not to mentioned the most bizarre fumble by Ingram who rarely fumbles at all. Barron playing with a dead arm didn't help on that auburn TD.

*IMO, they lose to Arkansas. too much offense to handle. last year they had Cam AT HOME to go toe to toe with the hogs. not this year. their last 2 games they have been struggling to put up points.

the FAU game, they had 10 points before halftime. the SC game , they had 19 points, 7 came from the last 2 minutes of the game.

*the Florida game should be interesting. if Brantley is good to go, UF wins. if Driskel is the QB, Demps and Rainey will have to carry the team along with their defense. I still like Gators to win in a close one.

*the Georgia game is 50/50, but is in Athens. Bullgogs will win in a close one.

*the Ole Miss game is anybody's guess. :)

* LSU and BAMA will beat their tiger butts up and down the field all day and all night!!

as Tommymac mentioned, just because Bama crushed Arky and Florida, don't be sadly mistaken that auburn is Bama. not even close.

Gmac,

I usually don't agree with your comments when it comes to certain topics on this forum. nothing personal.

but I couldn't agree more with what you just posted. I have nothing more to add in regards to how auburn is doing this season thus far after your perfect summary of them.

awesome post!!

RTR!!
