At the moment, with the commitment of Norwood, we have the #5 class with both Scout.com and Rivals.

We'll rack up from here on out, and class will get much better. I don't think we'll be able to pass USC on Rivals, and LSU will be tough, but we should at least get third -- we'll pass both Ohio State and Texas -- and we'll nab second if we can somehow get Randle away from LSU. On Scout.com, Ohio State has the top spot racked up. We'll pass Texas, but won't pass USC. That should leave us fighting for third with LSU, and again the deciding factor will probably be Randle.

Right now, I'd be very surprised if we finish higher than second on either system, and be completely shocked if we finished lower than fourth on either. At the very least, it's a lock for a top-five class.

If you put a gun to my head and made me predict the final finish I would say:

Rivals

1. USC
2. LSU
3. Alabama
4. Ohio State
5. Texas

Scout.com

1. Ohio State
2. USC
3. LSU
4. Alabama
5. Ohio State
Thanks BET!

BAMA is now #5 in Both Rivals and Scout.com.

FWIW the barn has fallen to #16 Scout.com and #21 in Rivals. Not sure I understand Scout.com.

Alabama jumped 3 spots on Scout.com with Kevin Norwood. BAMA only moved up one in Rivals with Kevin Norwood. Rivals has Norwood a Four Star and Scout.com has him as a Three Star?

Does not matter because Alabama is taking five or six more and the climb isn't finished. A Top 5 Class is excellent. A top 3 Class would be outstanding. ROLL TIDE ROLL

If you have a top 5-10 recruiting class with Nick Saban as your coach, then you gonna be playing for championships year in and year out. A lot of coaches can recruit, but not all of them can coach'em up. We are Rollin!!! rtr

Exactly, I feel the same way. Consistently being in the top 10 is enough to be a contender year in and year out as long as you have the coaching and we do.

And I don't think there's anybody here that wouldn't be happy with a number 10 class. However, it is fun to see how high your class can be ranked against the others as recruiting can kinda be a game in itself. And I guess thats why so many of us care about the rankings of our players, even though we know that they have great potential of CNS takes their commitment.

A few thoughts on some of the teams vying for the number one spot and how they will finish...

Ohio State, as I've mentioned before, should be locking up the top spot with Scout.com. They are number one right now by a very big margin, and they should still add two more five-star prospects: OT Marcus Hall, and QB Tahj Boyd.

USC was previously projected by me to finish up #1 on Rivals, but with them losing the commitment of five-star TE Morrell Presley to UCLA, I think that could cost them to the top spot. They should still finish up with about three more five-star prospects -- LB Manti Te'o, DE Devon Kennard, and DT Corey Adams -- and have an unreal class, but if LSU completely finishes up like they possibly can, they should probably edge USC by the narrowest of margins.

LSU has a chance to get past USC on Rivals, but they are going to have to run the table from here to do it. They will have to seal up Craig Loston, which shouldn't be a problem at all, but they will also have to lock up Rueben Randle, and they may very well have to get Andre Debose as well. That may very well be a tough thing to do, honestly. It's going to be very tough to get Debose away from Florida, especially if Harvin goes pro early, and Alabama is at least giving them a very tough run for Randle. That said, though, with Presley de-committing from USC, that at least leaves open the door for LSU to finish first in the Rivals ranking if they run the table from here.

Texas has a great class, no doubt about it, and on a per-player basis it is as good as you will find. However, they simply don't have near the size needed to legitimately contend for the #1 ranking, and that's just all she wrote.

Finally, the last team in the mix is Alabama, and believe it or not we do have a chance to wrap up the #1 spot on Rivals as well, now that Presley has de-committed from USC. Just like with LSU, we'll have to run the table to do it, but it's possible. If we can close by wrapping up with Dre Kirkpatrick, Kendall Kelly / Bobby Massie, Tana Patrick, and then stealing Randle away from LSU, then we will probably finish up with the #1 class in the country with Rivals. We should do all of the aforementioned, but getting Randle will be extremely difficult. However, that said, if we can somehow pull it off, we might sneak in the backdoor and get the #1 class again. With Presley leaving USC, and Alabama stealing a five-star away from LSU, that should open the door for Alabama to move past both of them.

That is true BigEasy. Alabama could nailed down the Number one spot. I see Alabama signing 26 players. With two or three five stars and several four stars left out their the possibility is huge for Alabama to get close to a #1 class. Coach Saban can and will deliver top solid class. Coach Saban is building a Juggernaut and most are just witnesses to that.

I hope you're right. (I hope the Barners don't read this - it'll lead to mass suicides... )

I think this shows that, for people who care about these rankings, that those who said not to worry when people were freaking out about being #12 a couple of months ago were correct. When you looked at the number of commits and who was left on our board it was pretty clear that things would work themselves out and we would be moving up by signing day.

Any site (Scout.com) that has the barn ranked 5th and Bama ranked 12th in their Team Recruiting Rankings is not a site that I want to frequent or place much value on what they have to say about recruits in general. I know their barn ranking is base mostly on the high number of commits that they have but even with that Rivals and others recognize the quality is not in the barn quantity. lol On Rivals.com Bama is ranked 6th and the barn is ranked 12th and the best is yet to come with this Bama class and the barn is just about finished.

I will say that almost everyone knows that by NSD the barn will be nowhere to be found in the top 10. Well that is unless the People's Choice has a Team Recruiting Ranking poll. lol

Bingo!!! Right on the Money as usual Surf :)

And people dont need to worry about stars so much.

Lester (LSU) Saban commit 3 star REMARKABLE Fullback had heart and the drive to win. Saban looks at all this in a player not just the stars....
